Weekly Picks & The 1 Point Club

Oh this is not going to be easy this week.

I was looking at the last three years for this track to see who has taken 1st, 2nd, 3rd...and you know there is not any duplication of any driver being in the top three from one year to the next or even every other year. There is nine different drivers in those top three slots over the last three years. I have made a guess and fortunately I can change it if I want by Friday midnight. I'll see what practice and qualifying brings and see if I make any changes.

For those intersted, the nine drivers are:
1st: Hamlin, Martin, Kyle Busch
2nd: McMurray, Johnson, Edwards
3rd: Kurt Busch, Stewart, Jeff Gordon

Yeah, flip a coin. It seems to be getting harder & harder to make the weekly picks as there is no clear "sure thing." I really try to pay attention during practice & qualifying, but sometimes that doesn't even help as the drivers don't necessarily tell everything they know.

I can tell you one thing, after last week's race I'll probably NOT be picking either Ryan or JPM.

& that is gonna suck considering Ryan has over half his starts here finishing in the top 5.

So far in the first practice, Ryan is fastest. Dang! Gonna have to rethink my previous statement about maybe picking Ryan.

Don't that stink.Ryan is good at this track but the fastest doesn't always win.Look at JR last week he was the fastest but he didn't win.I'm just going with who does the best on this track.

The 1st practice is in a rain delay now. They are interviewing drivers... including Ryan. He obviously is happy with his car and says his issues with JPM is behind them. We'll see.

Yeah, I heard that reported as well. JPM is the guest tonight on Trackside (Speed 10PM ET) and I'm sure he will be asked about it, so we will hear his side of it.

He won't tell the truth anyways. He should go back to INDY.
