Re: Juke box is back!

This is the first time I've checked out the Juke Box, and I found some cool stuff...thanks!

I must say, this is still one of my favorites, though.

Re: Juke box is back!

Welcome to the thread fanta. 8-)

It's def. one of my favorites here. I don't usually comment on each vid, but I check out about every one of them. Because I like pretty much everything from (Barry) Manilow to Metallica, most everything here is cool. Lots of new stuff and great classics too.

That vid you posted is funny. I started doing some Karaoke in North Carolina about 10 years ago, and the Toby Keith (I Love This Bar) original to this song was done quite often...as you can imagine in NC. ;)

Have to say, I doubt many here will "like" it, with it opening about Tony Stewart being a whiner.

Terry Kath: 1946 - 1978 RIP
You won't see his name on any "Best Guitarist" lists but he must have been pretty good to have Jimi Hendrix say to Chicago's manager once; "Hey, I'm pretty good but this cat blows me away."
Here is a sample of Terry Kath's work. He died too young as many in music have.

Lol! I know, I didn't like that part about Tony, either! But it's pretty well done all together.

Thank you for the welcome. It's funny you mentioned Karaoke, because, just to amuse myself, I have changed the words to lots of songs to fit Nascar to sing Karaoke style. I think the best one is the "Ode to My Spotter" sung to "Won't Last a Day Without You" by the Carpenters.

I'm not a great singer (especially during pollen season in Mississippi!), but I thought about recording some and putting them here for people to hear them. I wasn't sure folks here would like them, or if I would get in trouble for using the songs. What do YOU think?

This and "Iris" are just 2 classics from the decade.

I personally don't see the harm in it, and I doubt any lawyer will be ordering a "cease and desist" on our little forum. That's all that would possibly happen...nothing more.
Most artists today find it very flattering to have Weird Al do a version of their songs. I'm sure they would for yours too. 8-)

Re: Juke box is back!

i love the dolls, seen them a bunch in the late 90's, who would have thought the 90's was the last gasp of great music..... just my thought.. i know there are good bands today, but they are so few and far between. i will scream if i hear someone say nickleback are the rolling stones of today, not even close!
I miss you Frehley........
