Newman scores 13th NASCAR Cup Series pole for SHR in the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (27.904 seconds at 136.497 mph). Newman sets a new track qualifying record en route to earning his 51st career Cup Series pole. It is his series-leading seventh pole at New Hampshire.
