Tony Stewart: How Long Before 'Smoke' Wins a Race in 2011?

I hated to see Tony fall back the way he did in that final restart, but I think it was to try and keep the race position he had. He is 6th in points which puts him 17 down now, which is only a loss of 5 points from last week. It could be worse I suppose.

Since he declined the post-race interview, we'll have to wait to see what shows up in the news media this week as to what happened to him on that last restart.

He was obviously very unhappy (understatement).

Yes, I saw your other post and just responded. I'm on the same bright side with you.

Always listen to your gut, it never steers you wrong. Trust your heart and it is bound to get broken. Gut says vote for Harvick. Heart says vote for Tony. The rest is history. The heart got broken. The gut is saying "you are such an idiot, you never listen to me".

There's always Martinsville next week to redeem yourself.

He had a good car. I was listening to the scanner and I can understand him not coming in. If he came in, he may have been farther back to try to come to the front and may have finished worse than 13th. I understand him not wanting to interview also. He says something the wrong way and penalized by Nascar. I look at it this way, he is only 17 points out and this is only the 5th race of the season and there is still time for things to change for the better and he move back up in the standings. I personally would like to see a 1-2 SHR finish this year (not sure who is 1 and who is 2). I will continue to support and cheer for him. I read a lot of bad things being posted on some websites about how Tony finished and him this and him that type of talking. To me those are armchair drivers and crew chiefs. Till you get behind the wheel of a 3000+ lb car that goes 180 or more mph, don't know what it takes to make the car the best to finish 1st. Only those who do it for a living. Darian and the team and Tony will get this figured out and get back up there.

I will also say (even though I know this is not Ryan's forum) it was a good finish for Ryan and good to see him up in the standings as high as he is for a change (compared to last year at this time). I hope he stays up there for the year.

I'll be looking for peanut to find and post some of his news articles over the next few days. I'm sure one of them will have quotes from Tony as to what happened on that last restart... after he cools down.

Someone did say that the Team needed his attention & that he may fly to the Carribbean to be with his g/f. I sure hope he doesn't & I hope he hotfoots it to the shop to straighten this all out.

It's still too soon after the race. I'm sure some news will show up in the next few days... before it switches to Martinsville talk towards the end of the week.

I'm not worried,Harvick has two wins so far this year w/o a dominate car and Tony will do the same whether he dominates or not.That's what i love about these two,never dull and they don't need to dominate to win.To me,that is only part of what makes them my favs and don't ask in which order cuz i don't even know.lol Dale Jr.i'm just happy he's running well again after all this time and after 100 races,a win would be nice.
