Weekly Picks & Meal Club for 2013

I got the icecream and cookies made ... now I just have to wait for the kids to get out of school to finish putting things together.

All the kids want to make homemade pizza. We will be doing a cheese, a meatball, a pineapple, a mushroom, and a veggie. We will also make icecream cookie sandwiches with homemade french vanilla bean icecream. We are also making giant reeces pieces cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and oatmeal raisin cookies and putting the icecream in the middle and then freezing them.

I would not normally bend over for all the kids like this, but they are family and it does kind of take their mind of their sister being in the hospital for surgery after a really bad skiing accident. She broke her leg in two places, her ankle is cracked at the growth plate, and her foot is bent almost straight down and needs to be reset. There is also some nerve damage. This poor girl also has GBS which is a neurological disorder, so this does not help things either.

Considering the circumstances, you're being a good guy.

I just heard she is in recovery and everything went well, but now it is a pain management issue before they think about releasing her. Time will tell how much longer it will be. My brother will call is when they are on their way. I told him to prepare for a long ride home if the anastesia is not completely worn off.

So they're not even keeping her overnight? Wow.

Well they just got home and when we got the phone call I started down the same time they called. She looks so beat. They put on her some pretty intense drugs, some are supposed to last right through the weekend. She called me and said she was on her way home and asked if I could be there for her for a little while just to talk to. I brought her some of my homemade icecream cookie sandwiches and they were still frozen when we got there. She was so happy to have them and could not wait to try one.

I'm sure she feels better being home, I just hope they didn't release her too soon. Hospitals love to release patients on Fridays, before the weekend.

Haven't you seen the posters who are making their very first post in the 3 years that they have been registered use that post to scream about missing points? Talk about a thankless job!

I hear ya, sometimes ya get tired of explaining time and time and time again...especially when the answer is one or two posts prior to their gripe.
