Danica takes Pole for Daytona 500

You all should have seen my daughter when this was over. She was charting all three SHR drivers and got more than mildly irritated when Tony and Ryan got bumped. Who would think an 8 year old would get so excited about this.

She is already asking me what Speedweeks are and what we can watch. She is on vacation from school this week. She wants me to print out a schedule for her so she does not miss out on anything. So getting my daughter off the ceiling will be interesting.

Yeah, you guys are always so RIGHT ON on this stuff. After all, its only the lead sports story right now on ABC Sports, NBC Sports, CBS Sports, Fox Sports and CNN Sports. No big deal, huh?

ill give her credit, but she has driven well at daytona, i think that has to go with the speeds she drove in the indy car, and maybe she feels comfortable, if i remember the last rookie on the pole was JJ, i dont think she will rip off 60 plus wins and 5 championships, even tho i wasnt around for the first rocket launch, but im sure the first monkey that went into space was a big deal and was in the news a lot....

I do have to agree that it is not where you start the race, it is where you finish. However, my daughter found this on Facebook this morning and said this trophy is nothing to sneeze at. I tried to tell my daughter that a win will get Danica a lot more money and a much larger trophy. Her next statement was priceless. It is better than that stupid flag that her and Tony were holding yesterday. My daughter thought was her trophy and thought Danica was getting jipped.

Can't you people be happy for her for 5 minutes? Sure her chances of winning are slim, but the pole is a great way to start her new season, as well as her new life. She put her marriage to the old perv behind her. She's found new love with a cutie and she's got a great new gig with a majorly cool boss. Congrats, Danica, you go!

Big accomplishment...this will draw attention to the sport and to this team.
