Ryan & Matt

I normally do not post, just read all the other postings. I just want to talk about how comfortable Ryan has been since Matt came back. It's great to hear Matt actually ask Ryan during yellow flag laps how Ryan feels about the car. He will actually say, "while we have time during this yellow, tell how the car is feeling to you", we really never heard that from Tony G.

Ryan actually sounds like he is having fun in the car now. Even when the car is not to his liking, he is more calm about talking to Matt about it, and Matt always has a suggestion or asks for Ryan's input to see if the two will work together. Today's race is evidence of things to come, their pit strategy and comfort with the decisions they are making during the race, has produced two top 5's and an 11th and 10th place finish.

Like I said, don't usually post here, but I actually enjoy listening to his scanner again. Hope this bodes well in 2013.............

Re: Ryan & Matt

Thanks for entering the Nascar "Octagon" mriman500!

All of us on here have been yelling screaming for the head of Gibson. It was painfully obvious it was NOT a match made in Nascar heaven. And as each grueling race came and went. We would all have to grin and bare it till change came along.........finally!

Newman knew but could not openly say he's had enough of a failed crew chief in Gibson. So, we as fans have to sort of speak for him. I get all the Nascar PR stuff these drivers have to endure.

I think speaking the same engineering language with Matt has produced a more exact transformation of given car information verses poor Tony Gibson only understanding when it's time for lunch! Gibson is a great man but was way over his head with Newman. It was like speaking fluent German to a Japanese.......huh? ;)

Ryan expressed,"It's been so much fun" and that proves things have gotten better for our favorite driver!
