500th career start

Our man Smoke makes his 500th cup start Sunday at Homestead-Miami. Quite a milestone for our 3 time champion.

On another note our own Aaron Rosser wrote an article about this on SB Nation. Way to go Aaron.

He's going to need some of last years magic.......qualified 35?, either way that is a lot of cars to pass, but at Homestead he excels at that....

He is only one of thirty one drivers to Hit the 500 mark ........WTG Tony!

His 500th start will be from 35th! Sheesh... what happened?!?

I think he was very, very, loooooooooooooooooose! He has never been a good qualifier, but 35th.......not good!

AAHHH faith my dear friends.......remember back 1 yr ago he drove through the field HOW MANY TIMES? lol something like passing the same ones 3 or 4x ? lol.....if that car is dialed in right he can do it again...

I hear ya, TC... but this car has not been dialed in yet... they have 2 more practices to get it right.

And, yes, I certainly remember the Homestead race last year... one of my all-time favorite races. He passed, what did they say, 118 cars? Last year he certainly had "the car"... this year, not yet.

Awesome!! Smoke has some work to do Sunday thats for sure.
