LAST STOP, HOMESTEAD FLORIDA FOR NASCAR!

Other than Newman's (being in the right place at the right time)win earlier this year. Not a super exciting racing season in my humble opinion? Not only did Ryan NOT make the Chase. He never got a qualifying pole this year for the first time that I can remember! That means, no Bud Shoot Out going into the 2013 racing season with the new Nascar approved race cars!

Newman and his race team seemed disconnected and out of sink most of this season. Yes, they had some good races....if you remember any of them? :)

Now, we get to finish this racing season at a restrictor plate race that requires help from others of all things. Most teams will be doing all they can to help one another. Where does that leave Ryan? Denny was sort of Ryan's buddy at these type of races but will he this race? Stewart is out of contention but he and Newman rarely hook up for any period of time?

I'm not even going to list Newman's stats for this race. Senseless at this point! A coin toss would give a you a better clue to the ending of this race! ;)

Practice will be this Friday at 1:30PM(ET) followed by quals at 6:00PM(ET). Also, Saturday practices at 1:00PM-3:00PM(ET) as well. Race is Sunday beginning at 2:00PM(ET).

I guess I have looked at Nascar as a realist. No pie in the sky sprinkled with rainbows and unicorns. I report on what I see that particular race. Nothing wrong being blindly positive if that's your thing!

2013 brings us Newman fans lots of hope with the new cars and our new race team! Plus, we kind of know Harvick will be a member of S/H in 2014. Adding Harvick.......hum....not sure what to think of that? 8-)

This will be Ryan's last ever race with the U.S.Army sponsorship and paint scheme! Would love to see a win as sort of a moral booster for Nascar fans currently serving........but honestly, well anything can happen I guess? :?

Enjoy the race because the following Sunday.........there won't be one! :D 8-)

Definately the 39's worst year since SHR was formed...but Ryan still logged a number of top 5s and 10s, didn't seem a whole lot worse than Biffle, Harvick, Truex but those guys solidly made the chase, the 39 started having major bad luck in April, had a good run of races the month before the chase, him getting wrecked in Bristol killed him though.

I can deal without the Shootout as watching Ryan get screwed in nearly every single restrictor race is really getting old and painful to watch. There will be some other big names missing from that race also.

Sad to see the Army paint go for sure...I'll still represent it in the new game I just picked up (NTG Inside Line) - big improvement over NTG '11 by the way.

I hear you! 8-)

Newman's historically terrible in restrictor plate races. Very seldom if ever can find a drafting partner. If it wasn't for Kurt, he would never have won the Daytona 500. That was a present to Ryan!

Is everyone on vacation on here?

actually I credit Tony for Ryan's Daytona victory. Kurt really didnt have any choice but to draft up with Ryan. If Tony doesnt dropped down from the high line (to pick up I think was Kyle) Ryan couldnt have won the race where he was. Tony gave that race away.

Thanks Tony!!! Image
