It may or may not be Dale JR again but his popularity IS dropping per reports. Jr & Kayne were the finalists for who's face to put on the Nascar game a few months ago and Kayne came very close to beating Jr reportedly. It wouldnt surprise me to see someone else win MPD if not this yr then in the coming yrs for sure. Most people think that whoever the Champion IS they should be most popular, and while that makes sense to a point, the popularity factor itself often has nothing to do with race results-- right or wrong.

Most popular driver contest has been going on for years. Bill Elliott won so many times that he asked them to take his name off the voting list. It's just a contest that is fun for the fans. Since I signed on to SHR Garage I've never missed a day to vote. I put a post-it on my computer that says (vote for Tony every day) .It's a routine I miss when the season is over.

No that it matters but saying Danica wont win, apparently you never heard the slogan--"never say never"--dont bet anything you dont want to lose in a yr or so regarding Dale JR keeps winning, because the vote for MPD is geting closer every yr. now.

You admit you know little about Danica and dont care but you really have no clue how many fans she has? Course one little problem is some of them are still Indycar fans and some of those arent happy she is in Nascar, but she is gaining new fans as her Twitter followers keeps rising. Brad K was bragging awhile back that he had 300,000 twitter followers now, but Danica has had well over 600,000 for yrs now and currently over 660,000 & growing, just a small comparison.

Also I dont really vote for these things as they are just fun for the fans but does give an ego boost to however is chosen I suppose. Course it doesnt give them anything extra on the track other then maybe the need to try harder for the fans who voted for them--more pressure maybe--ask Dale Jr?
