Re: Remembering Marty Robbins 30 years later

It just doesn't seem like Marty has been gone 30 years. It also doesn't seem like he would be 87 years old either. His life and music keeps him young forever.

He died four years before I was born, nearly to the day, but you're right, his music lives on. He's probably my favorite right now.

Re: Remembering Marty Robbins 30 years later

The one thing I liked about Marty was the fact he was something like Waylon Jennings and did his music his way. He had a rough beginning but when he hit it was big and his popularity is still there.

Love Waylon too.

It's funny but the night after I'd written this story, I went on Twitter to see if Little Jimmy Dickens might be on there. He is, so I thanked him for discovering Marty, though I didn't expect him to see it. He actually retweeted it.
