Obama or Romney...Political minds want to know

In Maine we are polling people throughout the country on who they are voting for. We do not need to know why, we just want to know who. Reason for not knowing why is not create any conflicts amongst members.

As if the last four years were not long and depressing enough...now we have to go through it again. Haven't we been punished enough already.

Every single one of the candidates and issues I voted for or on yesterday got defeated except for one. Talk about a depressing day.

Like-thinking people such as you and I have become the minority in this country, Beav. I wonder how long it will be before we end up like Greece & Spain. Sad.

Wasn't it JFK who said, ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country? Wasn't he a Democrat? There has been a huge shift in the thinking of the population of this country since JFK, and not in a good way.

I'm glad I'm the age that I am. Hopefully I won't be around to see us go down the tubes.

That was a time when democrats thought more like republicans of today and republicans back then think like democrats do now. At least that is what my grandfather told me.

I see the DOW is down 234.47 so far this morning, "NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks fell on Wednesday in the wake of Barack Obama's reelection as president..."

Now it's down 303.28 - "NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks dropped on Wednesday as investors renewed their focus on a looming fiscal showdown in Congress after the re-election of President Barack Obama..."

ah, there is hope...the further it drops the better I feel.

I have my money set up with a guarantee to make at least 15% annually or the investment firm eats it. Last year I made 18%. I do have to do my part in watching these investments, but in the last 4 years I have not lost money yet. I have been with this local firm for 10 years and they have a really good track record. The down side is that I am not allowed to withdraw more than 4% of the total balance a year unless I close the account and I can't do that until I reach year 15.

btw the stocks didnt fall just because of the election, there were rumors of Germany and their money problems that the market reacted on that, besides maybe if the republicans didnt nominate a stone cold liar, their might have been change. i lost more money under bush than i did i obama, congrats obama!

Hoping stocks and such go down knowing yours won't is just plain mean spirited. I understand disappointment, but you don't need to wish hurtful things on others. No one likes to lose but it can be done gracefully.

I thought this crap would be over now, but apparently not.

Doesn't really matter anymore...Obama, Romney...bottom line it won't be long until our wonderful country goes completely to ruin or the needed changes happen.

At least it's been a pretty good 236 years for the most part.

The way I look at it is this.....Don't sit around pi$$in' and moanin' about things, do something about it.

Wow!!!! So much hatred this morning! Two things I generally never talk about....1. Religion 2. Politics. I don't consider myself either democrat or republican because I have never seen either party embrace every policy, belief, freedom, etc. that I need. However, we should all remember that no matter what side you are on, Election Day is not the only day to make your voice heard. Get out there and get involved in local government, write letters to your congressman/senators, start campaigns, etc. I know I have probably made some people mad by this statement, but again, just my way of making my voice heard. I tell people that do not vote that they lose their right to complain about politics. Same should be said for people who only yell at their televisions. Don't complain unless you are personally trying to make a difference, either big or small. Every little bit helps.
