CRIMSON AND DOVER 9/30/2012

Team #39 had been running fairly well here recently. There not winning races and are never mentioned as being a contender but I digress............. :D

Don't forget in 2013 Nascar will implement the "new" and improved redesigned race cars...........that Gibson won't be able to balance?

Newman has won many times at Dover back in the day but we have to talk in "real time" and he has been a little less than fair there! Anything can happen I guess............ 8-)

OFF TOPIC:My sports attention has been going in different directions with my Reds in the playoffs and my Bengals playing well.

Practice is the usual Friday at both 11:00AM and 2:30PM(ET) race is Sunday 1:00PM.

Paint scheme is pictured below. 8-)

Are you guys still into it even though Ryan's not in the Chase? :?

Heck, yeah! I would love to see Ryan finish at the top of the non-Chasers!

Re: CRIMSON AND DOVER 9/30/2012

egghhh...for some reason I'm doubting a good performance at Dover. Tony admitted not one of his better tracks, so maybe SHR doesn't have a great setup package there, Ryan has a good feel here but hasn't really had a car with speed here since Penske 2007.

Of course, Jimmie and Chad are saying how confident they are (like Denny did last week before NH) and will likely lead a bunch of laps, whereas the rest of HMS and SHR will struggle. This is what I hate about Rick H., he talks a big game about having an 'open book' but I guarantee this race proves otherwise again. Seems like Rick could force Chad to give up what he's doing but he just doesn't, this is why Gordon is always frustrated.

Denny has said this isn't a good track for him also and that they are just looking to 'survive'. Maybe that goes along with my suspicions on the Toyota package, they have something for the flatter tracks but when it comes to a high-banked speed type of place it is always HMS (48 team mainly) and Roush. We'll have to see.

Re: CRIMSON AND DOVER 9/30/2012

Would really like to see the 39 go balls out for a qual setup this weekend, this is definately a potential pole track. Hardly any passing here the past few years either, this track is one of the worst on the schedule now with aero push, whoever's out front just pulls away, and before you know it only 10-15 cars are on the lead lap.

Is probably why Dover needs to only have 1 race a year anymore. Used to be great, but since the COT has been mostly terrible.

Crimson and Dover......... :) I love it!! You are way to clever for this crowd!!

Ok........this is what we have.....
1.Ryan........likes this place, and has really picked up the pace lately with some really good finishes..... :). This could be a really good weekend for him ;) :) Maybe a pick?? I won't jinx him with a pick, I haven't selected a winner yet...
2.Tony.........not a happy camper at the last race. Needs to pick up the pace.......Steve Addington who as Kurt Busch's crew chief won here a couple of times....now granted last time here it was the first time they worked together as a team at Dover......hopefully they have come up with something new and exciting......maybe yes, maybe no!!

Re: CRIMSON AND DOVER 9/30/2012

what big game does Mr H talk, the 14 team is sitting in on meetings, who knows what the 39 is doing, so JJ and chad are confident at dover, its not like they have a secret set up, JJ really likes that track and is comfortable there, ther are many driver that click at a certain track, so its not like there is some conspiracy that the 48 is keeping secrets about dover, because i promise ya, they would trade a good run to have at dover to have a solid finish at a plate track, something they have yet to finish this year.

its status quot on the 39 team and that means running mid pack and if lucky a top ten, they dont make the effort to win, if they did, tuna wouldnt be the crew chief, but tony said last month he was pleased with the 39, so i will let that statement stand on it own,

well if the Tony fans want to look at it as glass half full Ryan has a good feel for the track, & Tony has a quality CC, that can work off Ryan. Tony should have a decent finish with teammates working together. I wouldnt be surprised to hear Tony giving some credit to Ryan after his good finish. They did that combo a lot last chase.
Ryan will probably finish in the late teens, with what Ryan has to work with, but I expect Tony to have a decent finish. Thanks to teamwork. Glass half full! (Annalee will be proud of me)

hahaha... My glass half full for a good finish for the 14 team at Dover is a top 20... Sorry, yes, I've always been a pessimist...

Re: CRIMSON AND DOVER 9/30/2012

to me I just can't be sure about the 48 not having something different. A 'secret setup' is going a little far but I just think they're doing a few minor things in addition to what the other guys do, combined with Jimmie's feel, I do nowadays accept that he is a great driver that may be one of the best ever at running a loose car which is how they fly through turns so good at times.

But given that, if he really has the same EXACT setup, geometry, engine tuning, whatever it is that the other guys do like Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart, 2 of the best ever themselves, really tough to accept that Jimmie can do what he's done and dominate at times. Places like Dover where Ryan was great at Penske, if SHR is supposedly getting these same setups than why is Ryan's best finish there only 8th since SHR, 15th, 23rd, 21st place last 3 races.

You may be right in saying that! ;)

I don't have the time to get on here lately. I can't get on here while I'm on the job! And I still do not get any reply notices on occasion? :?

Ryan may accidentally get a top 5 and surprise us all! :D 8-)

That's the hardest thing you have to accept about being a fan of Nascar. Your favorite driver may not win all that much if at all?(Jimmy Spencer) That's why it's so much easier choosing the Nascar "flavor of the month" or a past proven successful driver like Johnson,Gordon,Stewart!

It would save me a lot of stress and be a heck of a lot more fun in being a fan of a more successful driver but I chose Ryan Newman and I'm committed! :D
