PRE MICHIGAN RACE!

This is one of the few tracks I have actually been to in my short love of Nascar. I have never watched a live race since 2002. I went to Michigan back in 2004 to Ryan's fan day. Had a pretty good time that day!

Team #39 is not dominant at "any track" so you can't hang your hat on any race.

Not a lot to say about Michigan. Newman's 2009-2012 stats are as follows: Starts of 7/18/17/8/13/3/5
Finishes of: 15/23/23/32/6/5/15
Newman has had 1 pole and 2 wins at Michigan many years ago.

I try not to put a lot of drama into each race because every race is "brand new" so to speak. You never know the outcome until it's over! So many things can happen in a race. All that's left is stats!

Practices will start Friday at 12:30PM(ET) with quals at 4:00PM(ET). Two more practices will be held on Saturday at 8:30AM and 11:00AM(ET).

Race is Sunday approx. 1:20PM(ET)

Ryan's track strengths are No.1)Short Tracks followed by Road Courses then Intermediate and Super Speedway tracks!

Paint scheme is pictured below. Newman is currently 13TH in points but I feel he will need another win before the Chase?

P.S. Pretty sure Ryan will re-sign with S/H racing. Sponsor money is tight these days. He's been with his current race team now in it's 4TH year. I'm sure there doing the best they know how. I doubt Newman will find a better seat as far as race car quality. All fans want their driver running well. We will have confirmation here soon!

I believe Ryan was 15th last time at Michigan. I would really love to see him get another win and secure at least a wild card spot in the chase. Since Tony was 2nd, I'm hoping that Ryan's car will be a lot better this weekend. Share those notes boys!

I heard on a Nascar show over the internet that Team #14 was going to "open the books" for Team #39. That only further confirms the fact Gibson is lost with set ups! But, not all set ups are good for all drivers?

I hope Ryan can get at least a top 5 Rochelle. There has been "several" years that Ryan hasn't made the Chase and it's not all that fun for us fans. It's mainly his "bad racing luck" that is the culprit when that happens.

Like I have said. Tony Gibson is a good man, it's just he isn't a good crew chief!

Same here. I don't hate Gibson. Just wish Newman could have a more creative crew chief in my lifetime!
