NO Racing This Weekend!

The way things are going so far for Team #39, I don't want it to end! :D I'm not a big fan of these breaks in racing. It may be good for the race teams but NOT the fans. :x

Normally, Newman and his team would have at least one DNF by now and not even listed in the standings top 12. That was getting super old!

I guess having the very best in Nascar as far as chassis and engines is no guarantee for success. Look at Junior! It's your race teams ability to keep the race car working at it's peak performance that matters. And most of all...CAR BALANCE THROUGH OUT AN ENTIRE RACE! :?

Ryan is currently 5TH in points with plenty of racing to go. As you all know about Nascar,"Anything can happen and it usually does.....especially to Ryan Newman!"

Off Topic: My Cincinnati Reds will be playing for keeps at the end of this month. Looking forward to their success again this year!

Please elaborate on the things you have seen so far this season for Team #39 that are good/ bad or indifferent.

It's too early in the season... the teams don't need a break at this point. Not even sure why NASCAR sets the schedule this way. :?

been very impressed so far this year.
hopefully the adjustments keep being correct, and the CC keeps the pressure on the crew to do an efficient job everytime.

I agree HH!

Makes no sense at all this early. It's like that bye is pro football. How soft we have become?

Thanks for posting jamo14.

The Newman racing family is small on this site. It's like many got ticked off when this site first went up and never returned? Oh well, I guess most people have lost interest in Ryan and have jumped ship? You know how us humans are...we like a winner and we have a very short attention span!

Re: NO Racing This Weekend!

Been both a Tony and a Ryan fan for a long time. Agree it great to see him finally get off to a super start. Still early but shows a lot of promise

Also, read somewhere that some statistician has said the likes of Biffle, Burton and a couple others are already to far behind to win ( have to find that and post it), so this good start has meaning.

Seems none of the drivers are happy about this break either! Or the fact they have to come back east for Bristol, then go back west for Fontana, then come back for Martinsville, then back again for Texas. Someone needs to think the schedule better IMO.

they probably do it to give the team itself a break from all that travling, especially the truck drivers, they gotta be worn out a bit

Hey tonysgal! Weather here in the great Ohio state has been mixed. Mainly light snow, rain and gloom over cast and not much sun light. It stinks!

I just hope Newman can continue his current success.

Thanks for posting. Like I have said, the Newman blog family here is small but mighty! :D

Re: NO Racing This Weekend!

I've been wearing my digital camo #39 hat that a good friend gave me for every race.

I live in Newman Country, but there is not much of his apparel for sale around here.

He needs to win the championship this year, not only for The Army, but also so he can justify opening a retail store around here or South Bend.

If he could get someone like Cabela's (who make a lot of clothing) to sponsor him instead of Haas Automation, that would help a lot.....and it would be another cool looking car in the stable.

I'm not sure where I read this but at least part of the reason is the haulers and men on the road don't have a chance to go home for at least a three week stretch. They need to reload the trucks etc and check on their families. It makes sense even if the fans have to wait a week. I also notice the drivers have had some fun like Tony bobsledding, Kasey racing Kyles truck, Kyle vacationing in Mexico plus I'm sure the wives and girls friends of the rest of the drivers found things to do.

Re: NO Racing This Weekend!

jamo is right, I live right by South Bend, and you can't find much of anything around here for Ryan. Even when Walmart carried NASCAR stuff, they never carried his diecasts or shirts that I ever found. Hometown boy in NASCAR, and all you could find was the same old Edwards/Jr/Logano stuff.
Go Ryan!
( OK, Tony & Danica too )

Re: NO Racing This Weekend!

Most NASCAR stuff sold arond here is Hendricks drivers except for Mark Martin. Kasey Kahne sells here too. At one time Tonys things were here but I haven't found anything in over 2 years. As for Ryan I've never seen anything for sale for him.

Re: NO Racing This Weekend!

I know what you folks mean about Ryan Newman apparel. I'm a big guy. I have to have 3-4x tee shirts. You can't buy them at any local stores. So, I buy 100% of all my Nascar stuff of the internet.

Ryan's mother Diane help me get a jacket back in 2002. And, she also had Ryan personally autograph his 2002 centerfold from Speed Illustrated picture of his Taurus right after he won "The Winston." That's my pride and joy. He never ever autographs anything personally to an individual. He almost miss-spelled my last name......that's the same as his! :D

I would guess the reason for that is supply and demand. There's just not a lot of demand for Ryan's apparel.

As much as we like Newman, retailers only want to stock what sells. You can guess which drivers that would be! :D
