Not sure how you feel about road courses? I guess that all depends upon how well your favorite driver drives at them would be my guess.

Ryan Newman is a past open wheel Champion so he can wheel with the best of them on these type tracks. Only thing is, you can only do so much with a Nascar deigned stock car at road courses!

Ryan Newman is currently 14TH in the Nascar Sprint Cup Series standings tied with Jeff Gordon. But, Jeff was awarded the #13 spot due to him having better finishes than Newman. Oh joy, another Hendrick juggernaut pushing my favorite driver aside....yea! That's alright. Only means Team #39 needs to work a lot harder and have good racing luck!

Newman's Watkins Glen numbers look like the following: Starts:6/19/6 Finishes:21/12/16 Poles: goose egg

Newman's career average at road courses is 14.5.

Practices will be Friday at 12noon(ET) and 4:00PM(ET) Quals on Saturday 11:30AM(ET)
Race: approx. 1:20PM(ET) on Sunday

Newman in his past has done well at road courses but we have to talk in current terms with S/H. Will Tony G. get Newman a sufficient car balance? Will Newman get caught up in a wreck or be wrecked? None of us knows...................

as far as im concerned they are tied, its better than what has been the last few weeks, my only concern is the pit crew and the CC, i believe ryan will step it up, but will they?

As a side note, Jayski only shows JJ with the silver scheme for this weekend. I haven't found any other postings for different paint schemes. Maybe closer to race day...

It looks as though it's changed to Army. I only found changes for the 31, 43, 48 and 98.

Yes, I read on Jayski that color was used for 69 and 70 models. Not just Chevy, but Olds, Buick, Cadillac and Pontiac, although they used different names for that same color on the other makes/models. I thought it was interesting. I had a boyfriend that had a 69 Chevelle SS, maroon with a black vinyl top. That car was awesome! Awwwww, the good old days...

I see Ryan as a good road course racer! Every road course I watch he runs well than pits and for some unknown??? reason he falls through the field, I again say TG. Frustrating.
