He bought a Hunter green 1970 and it was ordered berfore he came home. In order for it to be ready the day he arrived in Michigan I had to make some of his decisions for him. That was scary....Not really as he didn't care what tires I chose, blah, bla. He had the car for a few months and it blew an engine. Since the car was under warranty he chose a 71. My father had a fit when he found out my brother paid cash for the car. It was $5,000 and my father thought that was robbery. He wouldn't believe what cars cost today. Now if anyone could tell me what year there was a Corvette made with 2 tops and one was a split top I'd appreciate it. I believe it was made sometime in the 60's. My brother bought it second hand and loved that car. Sad part his wife made him get rid of it and buy a as she put it a real car. Are they still marrried? No.
Was this it?

I can't remember what the car looked like exactly but it wasn't the one in the picture. The 2 tops came off and could be changed. My husband says he can't remember everything but the one was a canvas type that worked like a convertible and the split top didn't move until it was taken off. I believe the car was made around 1964 and was about 10 years old when he bought it. My husband worked with the original owner so he knew the car history. It was in great shape for being 10 years old. I'm sure HH my brother wished he still had the car. He has lived in Florida for several years so the car wouldn't have had much winter to worry about. I don't think his former wife really understood what the car meant to him. She didn't know him while he was in the military and didn't know the fact he was saving for the first Corvette and that car basically saved his life. I know this sounds morbid but it was the way some of the guys lived was to look forward to something special and his was the first car. Thanks for the pics. This thread has kept me interested in the cars I loved so much.
The Military Thanks You For Standing Behind Them. If You Can't Do that You Can Always Stand In Front Of Them.....Think About It.....

Thank you to those who took a step forward to save the rest who stand still.
