Indy cars considering
having heat races for qualifying. Growing up on the local short tracks, I would love this idea myself.

you'll be able to watch it Saturday night on NBC sports network (formerly versus)...then the race immediately following.
They're doing this heat racing special for the Iowa race (there are 3 heat races)
USAC midgets and Silver Crown cars are racing today, as well as indycar running their qualifying times, then the heat races. Then they'll show the indycar side of things tomorrow night as a taped delayed event, followed by the live indycar race.
I wish they showed everything tonight (USAC & indycar) but I'll take what I can get.

Me too!!!!! I have always wondered why NASCAR had never tried this.

Me too!!!!! I have always wondered why NASCAR had never tried this.
Too many other things going on during a race weekend including on track activity from other racing series. Would be cool though.
