39 TEAM

Week in and week out I read this forum. I see all the finger pointing and comments blaming this guy or that person while praising others.

Bottom line...yes Ryan is a mighty fine driver. This was evident at the beginning of Sunday's race. He was pickin' em up and layin' em down!!!

But for the hard to swallow truth. Like others, this is a team sport. If you're not winning, you're the next loser in line. This goes for eveyone from the top down.

As long as each and every one on the team is accepting of the situation, then each and every one is just as responcible.

Sort of like the old adage...if you're not part of the cure, you're part of the problem".

I'm sure there are those out there reading this that don't like what I've said. Too bad. It was just as hard for me to post it.

Just an old man's thoughts....

Re: 39 TEAM

i agree with you 100%, this is a team sport, you win and lose as a team, but bein a ryan fan, i find it hard to give the crew or the CC a pass, like you mentioned he was flying yesterday, but when it came time for changes, ryan went backwards, or should i say, stayed pretty much in the same position, i just find it hard as a team they except this every week. if it wasnt for kyle strugglin, and now kasey with the bad run, who knows where they might be in the standings, i question things not because i want to start something, i ask because i just dont get it, in my opinion it seems they are content where they are at, am i wrong? is there something i am missing?

Hey 39_Newman, I have been "beating that dead horse" for many months now and I agree! Sure, I make fun of Tony Gibson in my posts but it is a team effort no doubt.

I haven't been happy at all with Ryan's situation but I'm powerless as a fan since 2002. I was there in Michigan back in 2002 at Ryan's very first "Fan Day" meeting Krissie and most of Ryan's family and Don Miller.

I post pictures with humorous commentary as a stress reliever as a long time Newman fan. It's all harmless and in the spirit of fun. :D

Please feel free to post anytime. The Newman side of this site if very thin due to his official site that I was a member of for many, many years! But, it became full of cliques and narrow minded people who didn't mind ganging up on you! ;)

Re: 39 TEAM

I didnt see anything you said as wrong. It is a team sport & since it is evident they arent gonna make any changes to the team is the reason I want to see Ryan on a new team.

Another old adage.
Your only as strong as your weakest link.
(your only as good as your worst guy)

Re: 39 TEAM

I've always been a Ryan fan and will be as long as he's racing. Have followed him since his early days locally in South Bend and the area.

This is why it was hard for me to post what I did. There HAS to be some reason we all don't see or know about that allows him to accept what's happening. Ryan is not the type to just go to work and collect the pay.

I guess it just keeps nagging at the back of my mind that there is Zippy and Matt Borland in the backround.

The beginning of the Quicken 400 so reminded my of the Ryan of old. It's terrible for me to say but after that first pit stop I looked over at my Son and said "well, here goes the beginning of the end".

END OF VENTING...lol.

Re: 39 TEAM

i was so bummed after the first stop, and why is that??? the 39 crew touched the car! i always bring up how tony went out and got a CC after winning the cup, and many here think it is ryans call if he wants a new CC, at the end of the day, he should have imput, but i think the powers to be are to say, because they need to answer to sponsors, now that is not a dig at tony or SHR, thats just how i see it.

Re: 39 TEAM

Now that's a very real possibility.

The smart thing to do would be submit a list of names and have Tony and Ryan BOTH interview the prospects.

Maybe there just weren't that many looking for a job.

As for Matt and Greg...could have been offered but declined.

I have been venting on here since they started this site! :D

That "here we go again" feeling is echoed by me and many other fans. It comes from watching Ryan all these years with so many similar race results. :?

I think we may never know why Ryan has accepted what is happening with his race team. He can't possibly be happy?
