Danica 25th in Final Cup Practice

Nice job for her first time at Darlington. She was deadlast in the first practice. But she didn't do a qualifying run. She did get a stripe in the first practice but no big deal. I think she is going to surprise some people this weekend.
Cup: 14, 1, 29, 88, 99, 11, 17, 39, 15, 5, 2, 16

wonder if she will get High 5's in the pits for popping her cherry with the Darlington Stripes?

LOL. I bet.

She is currently sixth in nationwide qualifying. Her teammate just wrecked. She is taking to this track really well so far. Some rookies do. Justin Allgaier finished fifth in his first start here, and Denny Hamlin got a top ten here in his first start period in the nationwide series. Ryan Newman, Jamie McMurray both had top fives in their rookie seasons at Darlington

you know what they say if you dont get a darlington Stripe.

You werent trying hard enough

or

you werent going fast enough

(often times both)

I do agree with the saying that if you haven't wrecked then your not trying hard enough.

But I believe smart drivers avoid getting a Darlington Stripe. Like how Denny Hamlin did in 2010. Darlington is the only track where your #1 goal is not to hit the wall. Patience is a virtue here.
