Re: Ryan at Kansas

I think the experimenting that SHR did(I heard later in the week that Ryan was trying a different setup at Texas too). Has gotten this team a bit off course. Tony and Ryan ran okay but nothing to where they needed to be. I am a bit concerned. At least both have won so if theta trouble they can rely on the wild card.

Well the good news is, they are going to Richmond next, which is A. not a cookie cutter, & B. Drivers can do more to make up for a bad car. More of a Drivers track.

RIR has been good to SHR, Ryan in particular. Better now then the chase.

Re: Ryan at Kansas

They said on Raceday that Steve told them they were NOT experimenting....that it was to early for that...they want more wins and a better position to try it.......Tony and Ryan went w/ similar set ups last week...so they ARE sharing notes......it just didnt pan out for em is all.....this week i truely believe that the cars were set up for a hotter day and track...that did not happen at all therefore making it difficult to adjust to the changing conditions.......just like MTX was doin great on the colder cloudy conditions...when the the sun came out for a period of time his car fell off...but improved again when it got cooler again.....and no RIR hasnt been good to Tony the last few yrs.....i was at that track a few yrs ago and it was a terrible nite for him and Ryan.....but hopefully now that he has Zippy back and Steve on the box that will all change...But these r just my takes on things.... :D I dont expect anyone to agree w/ me.....its just my thots is all

TC, I totally agree with you! Does anyone know what happened on Tony's last pit stop, when they lost 5 positions. It looked like they took the tire off the left front and there wasn't a tire right there to replace it with and the front changer had to go get one?!?!?

Re: Ryan at Kansas

TC I watched Raceday, but I don't recall Steve being on there. I did step out for a bit so maybe I just missed it. If he did say that, then either he is lying, or Bob Dillner and Larry McReynolds are because they both said that they spoke to SHR people and they all said that they were trying some things. Maybe Steve didn't want it to sound as if they were getting off their game plan. I don't believe at least the field as caught up to SHR, it is more like they lost something somehow during an off week and they are trying to get it back. Still 18 races until the chase, plenty of time.

Re: Ryan at Kansas

It wasnt an interview w/ Steve.....they were just discussing SHR and what happened last week...one of the commentators (cant remember which one) said THEY had talked to Steve and thats what he told them.....
