He had an ok day. Not bad but nothing special. I am a tad concerned now. What happened to their mile and a half program? They are all of a sudden off. At least he has two wins so is a shoe in for the wildcard. Dropped to eighth in points.

I am worried too. But I would rather he has problems now than closer to the Chase cut off. He has lost his advantage.

FEAR NOT; it's waaaaay early in the season, especially for Tony to have two wins already. Besides, NASCAR wants to see a 14 VS 11 duel all the way thru the Chase.

I sure hope you are right! Ryan hasn't had the best of luck there! Think his cars have been fine but so much can happen that is out of your control. Plus the no two car tango hasn't been put to the test at Talladega. There are so many things that play into the outcome, but I love your prediction.

Tony had top tens at both Richmond races last year, and has three wins at RIR too. Should be a good race to get back on track. I like how the newbie is thinking, if they can stay out of a trouble, Talladega can be a great place to pick up another win. Everyone always wants to forget the quiet ones. Unless he is in a wreck, Matt kenseth is always around the front of a plate race in the end. (especially since there isnt tandem racing anymore)

Obviously this is baiting as you're posting this to get a response out of me. Normally I would ignore such childish ploys. But alas here it is.

He left Chip Ganassi on his own to go to Roush (a move I was skeptical about at the start). Ganassi never wanted him to leave. In fact if Jack Roush didn't pay $20 Million to him, Jamie would have been there for an extra year.

To call his career a fluke is very very funny. Sure it's not what Smoke, Gordon or your mancrush JJ has done (but JJ is also on one of the top 3 best teams of all time, didn't do much of anything in nw and there will be always the question of what he is capable of doing without Knaus), he has had the average NASCAR career with his share of ups and downs. Same thing with Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Ryan Newman, Greg Biffle and even Martin Truex Jr (who he has more wins then), to name a few. He is the 2003 rookie of the yera beating Greg Biffle (something JJ will never say he won), the track record holder at Homestead, he is the third driver to win the Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 in the same season, won the last four nw races at the Rock (that's more of just a cool stat since it isn't cup), beat Kyle Busch in one of the closest finishes in NASCAR history, won the most poles in 2010, is one of 24 drivers to win in all three series (even your mancrush JJ couldn't keep it straight in his truck debut) just to name a few.

He won a race in his second start beating Bobby Labonte when he was good, and Tony Stewart who went on to win the championship. Which is when he became my second favorite driver.

From 2003 to 2005 he was a consistent chase contender and contended for wins. If not for 25 points being taken away when his car was illegal at Bristol he would have made the chase in 2004 and Ryan would have missed it. If not for Tony Raines who was like 3 laps down wrecking him at Richmond ion 200 he would have made the chase that year too again at Ryan's expense (he entered that race ahead of Ryan in points albeit by one point). He tied your boy JJ for the second most top tens in 2004 (23). But Jamie has always had crap luck. Jamie got cocky a little and felt that Ganassi was holding him back not seeing that being the big fish in a small pond is better then a small fish in a ocean. Jamie was hand picked by Mark Martin to replace him in the six car kinda like how Mark picked Kasey Kahne for the five car. But when Mark stayed another year and Kurt went to Penske Jamie got into the 26. He was going to work with Pat Tryson. We'll never know how that would have worked out but he and Fenning didn't see eye to eye at all.

Then he went to Roush where he never had a chance to do really well. Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, and Greg Biffle those guys are Roush's bread and butter. Jamie was just the fourth guy his whole time their. Roush will even admit that he didn't give Jamie all that he needed to succeed. They gave him Kurt Busch's old cars with his set ups and Jamie didn't like the way Kurt drove his car. At Roush you get a setup and have to work with it. It doesn't get centered around you like at other teams. Having five crew chief changes while he was there didn't help. The only one that worked was Larry Carter and the came on really strong in 2008, have four top fives, five top tens,) including three top threes in the last three races) in the last six races. Then Roush decided to reunite Donnie Wingo and Jamie. They didn't rekindle anything at all. If Jamie had sticked with Carter in 2008 his last season there would have been better.

Right now Stevie Wonder could see the Earnhardt Ganassi is a best a D team. JPM is 16th in points with only 1 top ten, and Jamie 19th. Their cars are better then last year but that is how bad they were last year.
