Re: HOCKEY IS HERE!

I missed Flyers/Pens....looks like it was a wild game...wish I had seen that!

I fell asleep during Kings/Girls (love that MJ) but am not sorry to see the Kings came out on top.

Happy that the 'Hawks tied their series, of course. That game I stayed awake for 'till the end. ;) Interesting to see if Shaw is suspended. I like him but he needs to calm down a bit. I think he'll be suspended, but then again, I thought Weber would be.

Re: HOCKEY IS HERE!

leslie, if you have a chance to see the pens/flyers i highly suggest you watch it weds, it was becoming violent towards the end, but my gosh, the flyers are just destroying the pens with scoring, i cant see the pens fighting back.

Re: HOCKEY IS HERE!

Andrew Shaw of the Hawks is suspended for 3 games for his hit on Mike Smith of the Coyotes. Sounds like nhl is crackin' down on hits on goalies.
Tonight's game starts at 9pm

Re: HOCKEY IS HERE!

where do i begin......... torres should be suspended for the rest of the playoffs, this is the only way it will get through players heads not to take these cheap shots and hurt someone, especially a concussion. One of my fav players is no longer living due to the symptoms of a concussion, Derek Boogaard missed most of the 10-11 season due to a concussion and eventually died in may of 11' from overdosing on pain meds due to the concussion. this sport is violent enough, and you dont need people taking head shots, those helmets they wear arent made of steel, i should know i played hockey for 11 years and if you got hit in the head, ya felt it, so this jerk needs to be suspended, and if the NHL lets him off with a game or two, maybe nothing, then they dont really care, no matter what is said in public.

Re: HOCKEY IS HERE!

Couldn't agree more. Especially as a repeat upon repeat offender, Torres should be gone for the post season.

Re: HOCKEY IS HERE!

Shanahan wanted to do a conference call today. Torres requested it be pushed back to Friday. Shanahan agreed, but Torres HAS to go to the NY office in person (instead of a conference call) AND he can't play tomorrow night.

Eddie O was on Chicago radio this morning, and said the commish was at the game and was pi$$ed. Keep in mind, the nhl still owns the Coyotes cause no one has stepped up with a good offer to buy the team. Jerry Reinsdorf was almost to the finish line last year in buying the team, but decided to withdrawel....Jerry Reinsdorf owns the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bulls, and the building that the Chicago Bulls AND Chicago Blackhawks play in.

I'm hoping for a long suspension, but wouldn't be surprised if it's only 4 games...

Crazy how many plays have to be ruled upon by Shanahan this year in the playoffs, and it's only round 1....usually players mind their Ps & Qs a lot more during playoffs

Re: HOCKEY IS HERE!

The Capitals could potentially pull a Tony Stewart/Giants this year. They barely beat the Bruins a few days ago, hopefully the same result happens tonight.

Re: HOCKEY IS HERE!

...I figured the thing that would hurt the Hawks chances would be goaltending. A big part of why the Pens are down 3-1 is goaltending too...this is the WORST I've ever seen Fleury play. Vancouver looks like they FINALLY got what I'd been sayin' for so long...Loungo's overrated...at least in the playoffs. But, on a good note, Holtby looks good for the Caps. If he tightened up his position play/angles...Caps might be up 3-1 in the series.

...hmmm...I'm beginin' to think goaltending might have some importance in the sucess of a team... ;)

Re: HOCKEY IS HERE!

i still dont get why torres couldnt go to Ny after the game the other nite, since thurs was a off day, not like chitown is far from Ny, he will probably get away with a game suspension, hawks need to pick up their play, the coyotes are out hustlin them,

hope the wings can pick it up tonite, would love to see the pens bring the heat, since everything about the flyers disgust me. finally, hope the kings pull one out on the girls..... i shouldnt use the term girls, its an insult to you girls and women every where.

Re: HOCKEY IS HERE!

well the wings blew it, i didnt think they would tank so fast, since they had a strong year, maybe they blew it all on that home streak, no idea, but they had no offense,

pens pulled out another one, back to philly for game 6 on sunday, i might have to miss the race to watch that game,

ton of games tomorrow, find out if torres gets suspended.

Re: HOCKEY IS HERE!

torres suspended 25 games, he committed 3 penalties with one hit, and due to his previous actions and suspension is why shanny gave him 25 games. if you go to nhl.com, there is a video where shanny explains the suspension and shows video of the other hits, it is clear this guy is a head hunter with no regards for anyone's safety.
