JJ didn't tweet those quotes. Jef Gluck did and go check for yourself MJ.

It was not Jimmy who said it it was Marty Smith:

Marty Smith‏@MartySmithESPN
Johnson says he's frustrated with Newman for holding him up and costing him the lead to Biffle.

Re: JJ says Ryan cost him the win

Oh for hells' sake yall,... Jimmie can say whatever he wants and people can think what they want about what he said.... and even post an opinion.

Marty Smith can tweet words out of Jimmie's mouth and they can be misquoted or not even 100% true. Marty tends to add what he thinks, a lot of times... not what he knows.

MJ and me ( and others ) CAN like Jimmie without being harassed or constantly defending him or our opinions. Fans can also love Ryan and think what they want of the JJ/Ryan statement.

Hey, let's share opinions on the matter?

Please agree to disagree like adults, politely and diplomatically. There is no reason to call people names or insult them, for their opinions.

Thank you SmokePrincess for bringing the FACTS to the board, as well. Good job. :-)

Re: JJ says Ryan cost him the win

I think we're all under the assumption that we can say whatever we want about any driver in NASCAR on this site and we also know not everyone will agree with us. That's a given. I like it when people keep the "personal" attacks out of their posts and what's really frustrating is when the biggest whiners on this site complain about being personally attacked all the time. I call it the martyr syndrome and it gets old.

I've said whatever I've wanted to say on this site since the second day of it's inception and I've only been personally "attacked" by 2 people on this site. One is no longer here and one is still here and still very vocal.

If people make fun of you guys who make personal attacks, maybe you should look at how you're posting. Overall though, I think this site and its posters are great and they've shown me the respect I've shown them. I LOVE this site. But it's just a NASCAR site for fans of SHR drivers. It's not my life. It's not how I get my self esteem. If someone says something I don't agree with, even if it's on my post, I don't take it to heart. They have the same right to their opinion as I do (and actually I believe they probably are more knowledge usually as I've only been a NASCAR fan for 10 years).

So I guess at the risk of sounding preachy, I would just ask the few on here to lighten up. Respect others and they'll respect you. Disrespect others and then you reap what you sew. But if you're not respecting others, quit complaining that you never get respect.

Re: JJ says Ryan cost him the win

Man you guys, lighten up just a bit. I am by no means a Jimmie Johnson fan but oh how I love to listen to he and Chad on the scanner. I was there last listening to them and JJ said " get out of my phucking way". Well he didn't say it, he screamed it actually. And after he hit the wall chad just coaxed him to take care of the car and bring it home.

So maybe Ryan didn't give him an inch. The announcers on the post race show on Sirius said Ryan is one of the drivers who can go 3 wide by himself. I like that about him but maybe at 2 laps down all he should have been concerned about was finishing the race himself in one piece.

Jimmie's comments post race were about respect plain and simple. And if he did indeed approach Tony to tell on Ryan well that makes him a word I just won't say here although I did tell MJ privately what I thought

MJ is a good friend. I met him here but we also carry on off the site. I have always found him to be without malice and quite entertaining. So maybe he stirs the pot. Just means he has a big spoon.

Re: JJ says Ryan cost him the win

Well JJ has never liked Ryan. Not sure where all that started, but it is the way it is. If Jj said anything, I am more interested in how what exactly he said.
As far as Marty Smith. He doesnt like Ryan either. I remember him & a couple other media guys applauding JPM for spinning out Ryan.
The Media gets in a rut & never changes their way of thinking or atleast very slow too change.
Ryan got a rep early on for not allowing cars to freely pass him. He honestly does understand big picture racing more nowadays, but that is never pointed out. Just when he is racing hard they go back to talking about him as if it is his early days. Meanwhile if it is a different driver the perception is completely different. So I usually dismiss anything the media says about a situation, because the more you know about the sport, usually the more obvious you realize how dumb most of these media people are to the sport or the situations. Then you add in the casual fan who throws out the typical they know more than we do statement so I will trust what they say over you, comments. trust me, the media only uses part truths (at best) when they are talking crap on TV (radios etc...)

So I am not really interested in the media BS about how Ryan lost the race for JJ (which btw is a joke to even consider)

I am interested in if JJ said something & if so what exactly he said. He has never said anything good about Ryan, so I wouldnt be expecting all puppy dogs & smiles, but would be shocked if he really does blame Ryan for the Loss.

OK, first of all... I was born on the wrong side of the tracks! LOL Once, I ventured over the line and got yelled at... "Get back over the tracks, where you belong!" LOL

And also... you're not the first to mumble "There goes the neighborhood" when I move in. ;-)

Re: JJ says Ryan cost him the win

The thing is MJ as appointed himself as chief JJ defender on this site and it's lame tbh. Idc if anyone likes JJ it's your right. I respect him, he's a great driver on a great team, but he is one of five people I hate. I should be able to post something about JJ without someone bashing Tony in return. It is really immature. Tlmerk said best this site is meant for Tony, Ryan, and Danica fans and we should feel free to post about non SHR drivers freely. Doc loves Kyle Busch, like JJ, most here bot so much (including me). But she doesn't bash people when they diss Kyle. I like Carl Edwards and in a thread a dew members dissed Carl. Instead of attacking them, we had a good debate. Whether it's Jimmie, Jamie, Kyle, Carl, or Jeff Gordon we should be able to talk about any driver.

Re: JJ says Ryan cost him the win

JJ did say during his interview that lap traffic cost him the race, but he did not specify who.Since at that point myself and my friends were pretty well smoked,i'll reframe from any further comments aside excuses, excuses and hitting the wall still puzzles the #### out of me. :? I'm a Rick Hendrick hater, but nothing against his drivers and sometimes JJ just needs to accept the fact he got beat and Chad can't always get away with being a cheat!

Re: JJ says Ryan cost him the win

I may be ignorant Wolfgang because I don't know if you're being ironic or serious but I DID think everyone liked Ryan until last weekend at my son's track meet and one of his friend's mom said she hates Tony and Ryan because they're both whiners! I was shocked at first and then I remember the times Ryan DOES complain (usually about safety issues but I've heard him complain about some drivers too). I just thought Ryan was the driver everyone liked (kind of like Martin or Ambrose). Guess I was wrong. I still think he's the most under-rated driver but then I'm biased.

Of course her husband's favorite driver is Tony Stewart (whoop) but she likes Biffle and Truex and her son likes Gordon. It's kind of funny when everyone in the family likes a different NASCAR driver. I wonder if that's common. Since I'm the only one in my family who likes NASCAR, I wouldn't know. (Although, if pressed my husband likes JJ but as I've posted before he once gave him a ride at Vegas Speedway and didn't even know who he was until they got to the pit area and JJ invited him into the pits.)
