California was as advertised(a snoozer)........another Stewart win...imagine that!

Ryan looked like always.....a "roller coaster" race of track positions. He even admitted this in his post interview. How could he not?

Still a good finish "thanks to rain" and he's now 10TH in points!

Your observation if any..........

Well Ryan stayed in the top tenb the entire race. (even during pitstops) Ryan thought the last set of tires were different. not so much the set up being off. TG didnt do to bad actually this week, but every pitstop Ryan would lose a spot or two. Ryan could have finished with a top 5, if they didnt lose time on pitroad.

Ryan's car was consistent. 4th, 12th, 7th, that's a good string of runs going.

What Indycar race did you watch? With the exception of Helios awesome pass it was follow the leader. What's your problem with Tony. Btw Tony had an era from 2002 to 2005. This is his second era. RCR and Penske will never dominate so go watch Penske do it in the Irl.

only time penske really dominated was 93-94, and that was when maybe there were at best 10 top teams, penske went all the way with rusty and got nothing in return, every time rusty had a issue with his teammate, it made both teams worse, there were a ton of great drivers he could have hired, but its always about rusty, penske is good in IRL, but when it comes to nascar he is a wet turd.. same goes with chip, he has very talented drivers in nascar, but i dont think he gets the concept of nascar, tony has hit a streak right now, (jj had the same numbers coming off 09 and into 10, 7 wins in 14 races)
it will be interesting to see if continues, importantly, he has wins it will be nice to see if ryan can be consistent, but he needs to step up and start winning if he wants to be called champ.

Just a small reminder........The very best Nascar drivers this world has to offer are NOTHING with out an intelligent Crew Chief and his race team and there "combined" efforts in maintaining a race car.

Plus, you have to realize during a race there are only so many things you can legally do per Nascar's rule book and you have a time restraint as well in order to stay on the lead lap.

In other words, your race car has to come off the hauler pretty close to perfect. Yes, there is time to change things before qualifying. It's NOT an exact science unless your CC name is Chad!

If you have followed Newman's career since 2001. You would know he has had a tremendous amount of car make changes and crew chiefs/race teams.(Penske-Ford Taurus/Dodge Intrepid/Charger and now SHR-Chevy) Jimmie Johnson, Newman's rival for "rookie of the year" in 2002 that Newman "was awarded", has had only one crew chief and one car make his entire career. Not reading anything into that other than it promotes consistency. I have often wondered what if Ryan could have gotten that #48 ride would things have been any different......?

Yes I would love to see Newman running as good as Tony...duuuh! What Newman fan wouldn't.

My point is, Ryan's doing all he can do and us fans would like to see him get the support all drivers deserve to be competitive. The cars and driver are solid with Team #39......their weakest link is as obvious as the nose on your face!(Dead horse again sorry)

I was reading that Jimmie has actually never done anything like Tony has done with winning 7 out of 15 races. Though he did win 4 in a row in 2007.

Jeff Gordon won 7 out of nine races in 1998.

When it's another team dominating and passing cars as if they were on 7 cyls. it's called cheating,if Tony does it it's all the driver and a perfect race car. OK,i got it now!
Penske did not dominate the IRL last season,in fact Helio went winless.Penske in Nascar would have won the championship with Rusty in 93 with two more wins than Dale Snr.,but Rusty tried to block Dale at Dega and the DNF killed his chances and Dale won the championship.
Rusty and Dale never liked team mates and personally i never did either,why the #### should i give my secrets from over the years to someone else when i had to learn from it? Multi-car teams did nothing for the sport but limit sponsors to smaller teams and bring in team orders for b.s racing.
The IRL doesn't allow blocking,Nascar does and basicly the slide job the #14 did on the #11 and #29 was a slide job? This isn't Dirt and in my book it's blocking,the object is to slide up in front of the car in front of you and take away their momentum and that early in the race,i'd be #### too,sorry doesn't cut it! What kills me,is Tony can do whatever he wants,but when the tables turn it's a whole differant game with him. OK,i feel better now! Don't get me wrong,i like Tony,but Tony is all about Tony,i've seen it too often over the years and some things never change.

Great observation wolfgang. That was why I worried when Newman chose to be with S/H Racing knowing he was to team up with his old open wheel competitor.

When I went to Ryan's very first "Fan Appreciation Day" at his fathers automotive shop in Niles,Michigan back in 2002. He had pictures of Tony Stewart all over the place. I got to talk to him that day and he said,"Tony was one of my most rivaled "open wheel" Indiana competitors!" I know, not much to read into that.

Stewart is a very likeable man but never underestimate his "passion" for winning Nascar stock car races. He would NEVER tolerate Ryan Newman or Danica ever being better than him......EVER!

The last two seasons in the IRL Will Power has been winning a ton of races, his teammates are just catching up to him.

What Tony did wasn't dirty. The slide job is a dirt track move, but Tony grew up on the track, just taking a tatiic and using it to his advantage because he is that talented.

So your saying Tony is just like anyone other driver who wants to win races and championships? He does care about Ryan you, he does own that car. Like the last two seasons when there were points when Ryan out performed Tony. All I am reading is waaah. Newman's team just hasn't gotten to the 14's level just yet.
