Durn if I'd be that close to the thing in the first place. Myself, I wouldn't be so calm smiling around it even if it was dead, be my luck it would have another life in it someplace & get me. But that comes from a woman too so it stands reason.

Durn on the bear gun, get the heavy artillery out, something that would bring down an elephant! That way you'd be sure it's dead.

Sure hope he had lots of help getting that thing to the butcher. Wonder how much that thing weighed anyway.

That is a scary animal. I'll never beable to eat a pulled pork sandwich again. Wonder where in the food chain this boar rates........

Feral pigs or wild boars populations have gotten out of control in both Australia and the U.S. recently, mainly because they have no predators in our wild forests. Where they originate, they are eaten by Tigers,Wolves & Pythons. For some unknown reason, to science ( yet ) the populations' are not only exploding by the day... but the mama's are having larger & larger litters. Also,the babies aren't being eaten, so all of them survive. The breeding is kind of like rats or rabbits... once it gets started, it gets out of control fast.

Some states that are being over run are giving out permits for shooting, just like deer, elk, etc. Some states are trying to sterilize the females and neuter the males ( sorry guys ), some are trying 'birth control feed' ... all kinds of crazy stuff.

Some farmers use herds of wild pigs to clear a field ... and boy, do they...so you imagine what a wild herd could do someone's yard... or someone's farm fields of food.

Something that "I" think is odd... about the first picture ( the one Schmoopy posted ) is.. there is no weapon showing, to show how it was killed. Being around hunters for a very long time ( I don't hunt myself ) ... showing the weapon, the how I did it, is usually part & parcel of a game kill picture.

Hunters? Am I wrong? LOL

The tweets from SHR, Zippy or Hal Shaffer do not say how it was killed. I looked a little, on the internet... and couldn't find a story - just the tweets. Anyone know how it was taken down? Maybe there's something on FB. ?

They use to say things were "bigger" in Texas, don't think so any more! What's in the water in Florida ? The snakes they are finding in the Everglades are gigantic and now this huge boar. Kinda makes you wonder.??.... smokie 14 if you look really carefully between the top hair on PORKY'S back you can see the barrel of Zippy's gun. I enlarged the picture and you can barely see it.
