It is about time that Daraian the bug made the right adjustments.
No one can promise they’ll never hurt you, because at one time or another they will. The real promise is if the time you spent together will be worth the pain in the end.

Re: Tony 3rd great finish!

Great run by Tony there in the end. It was the Tony of old out there. I'm not mad at ESPN for not showing Tony move up through the field. Yeah, it would have been nice to see a split screen or something, but it was a great battle up front for the win. Congrats to Ryan for making the Chase after missing it last year. Congrats to JG for win #85. That is a big deal, and maybe something we wont see for a long time. Not sure what kind of pace JJ is on, but I don't think Kyle Busch will break the #85 barrier for Cup wins.

No one thought JJ would get five championships in a row,so there's always that possability of 85 or more,he's young enough. The Kyle thing with over 100 wins i have to agree is getting old and he is the only one it appears they do it with.

Re: Tony 3rd great finish!

Jimmie Johnson is the only one that I can see getting to 85 out of the current crop. I mean, this is truly a once in a generation thing. It is a seriously huge accomplishment for Jeff Gordon. I mean Smoke might not even hit 50 wins. I think that could be a stretch.

Re: Tony 3rd great finish!

i just think the competition is getting tougher to reach those high numbers, back in the day, you had 5 maybe 10 drivers that could win, now it seems there are at least 20, not to mention a lot of races this yr were settled on gas mileage, and there were winners no one was expecting, but that is racing, live and die by gas mileage,

there is no doubt kyle can drive, but i feel it is an insult to all the great drivers of the past, petty, pearson, dale sr, cale, allison, DW, gordon, jarrett , etc to push those bogus wins ahead of what these men accomplished, and you nailed it on the head, that is the only driver they do it for, you never hear them combine martin's 40 plus wins in the NW series and the 7 or 8 wins in truck and add it to his cup record. it is a joke, and insults the fans when they do it, of course kyle fans love it cuz that is only thing he will ever accomplish, he is too much of a head case to win a cup championship, just look at the truck race and how he tried to blame harvick for him cutting off sadler, kyle cant get past it, pretty funny.

Re: Tony 3rd great finish!

I think Gordon could hit 100. It depends on when he retires and if he can have seasons like this.

Johnson has 54 right now I say he win another 25 in his career so I say he win 79 to 80 races in his career. His age hurts him since he is already 35 (only five years younger then Jeff). Johnson is due for some low number seasons this (this year looks like 1 of them) so we'll see. He'll have at least 70.

Tony has 39 he clearly will reach 40 and he will reach 50. It depends on how long he goes (he'll go into his late 40 possbily 50). I see him racing at most ten more seasons and if he can do his average of 3 wins a year he'll probably have like 60 something wins maybe even 70 if he can have a few more 4 to 6 win seasons.

Kyle Busch is 26 one less then what Tony Stewart had at this time in his career. But Kyle has probaly 25 more years in cup left. He can def reach 85 and probably will, might even reach 100. He will win championships too.

One to watch who isn't even in cup yet (according to Bill Kimm who says Gordon's record wil go unmatched) is Austin Dillon and I agree. This guy is a winner.
Cup: 14, 1, 29, 88, 99, 11, 17, 39, 15, 5, 2, 16
NW: 7, 31, 3, 11, 60, 88, 12
Trucks: 9, 88, 3, 7, 17, 31
IRL: 10, 11, 12, 26, 3, 38, 27

I'm sorry but 50 wins for Tony at this point would be a serious accomplishment. He could get it and I hope he does because he would join some serious company. But he will never reach beyond 50 at this point.

50 wins is only 11 wins more.

His career has looked like this

1999-3 wins
2000-6
2001-3
2002-3
2003-2
2004-2
2005-5
2006-5
2007-3
2008-1
2009-4
2010-2
2011???

I think he can win 2 to 3 races this year. Which would put him at 42 and only 8 away from 50. He is 40. Say if he races for ten more seasons like I think he will and wins his average (that's 3 wins a year). By that he should reach 50 wins by 2013. He could reach 60 wins by 2016, and by 2020 when I think he'll retire he'd have 71 career victores.
Cup: 14, 1, 29, 88, 99, 11, 17, 39, 15, 5, 2, 16
NW: 7, 31, 3, 11, 60, 88, 12
Trucks: 9, 88, 3, 7, 17, 31
IRL: 10, 11, 12, 26, 3, 38, 27

Re: Tony 3rd great finish!

The media is already pushing it'll be a #24 and #48 show down for the championship,i'm kinda waiting to see how things shape up this weekend myself.Kenseth the media claims his driving ability is like that of the silver fox,i say Terry Labonte and i wouldn't count him out during this chase. The Penske teams are on a role, but i'm not sure as they'll be able to maintain the momentum as much as i'd like to see it.Certianly is getting interesting and if the #24 is on a role,he will be tough to beat no doubt.Kyle, well MJ mentioned the truck race and i watched that episode with Sadler and Kyles comments after the race.Just when yah think Kyle grew up,here we go again, evidently the Richard Childress swing only got his attention for a short period of time.Wouldn't bet on Kyle anymore than Hamlin this year. The wins,Tony stayed at JGR i'm sure he'd have more by now,but he wanted to do it this way and i wonder if there is ever a momment he regrets it as often drivers to owners have in the past?

Re: Tony 3rd great finish!

Tony won four races in 2009 and two last year. That is what he is doing at Gibbs. Wolfgang your the only one who thinks he may regret leaving JGR.
