Just Need Luck

Still about 30 to go, we'll see what happens, but it looks like Tony's gonna be outside the top-20 cause of the gear. If not for that, I honestly believe he had a potentially race-winning car. Last two weeks they've had the car to win, it's gonna be a great summer. Just need luck.

Re: Just Need Luck

We need more competence with this race team. It's either a broken part, or a terrible pit decision, or a terrible pit stop, or a pit penalty that's cost him so many races. We have one top 5, yet we had about 8 races this year where we ran in the top 5. I think Smoke's talent completely covers up the significant deficiencies of this race team.

Trial and error. Yes it's frustrating, some of the things that have happened, but it is what it is. You can bet they're learning lessons that they will apply.

Re: Just Need Luck

They're better off than they were this time last year. Last year, I didn't think they had a prayer of winning a race any time soon, Sonoma and Daytona nonwithstanding. After the way the car ran at Kansas and the way it ran before he lost third gear yesterday, I'm confident we're going to see him win, win soon, and win a lot. Michigan could be the first one, remember he dominated there last August but faded late because they didn't pit.

Usually I'm pessimistic and worried right up until he wins for the first time but this year is different, I just feel like it's going to be a good year. Like Darian told Tony on the radio yesterday, it's gotta turn around sometime, and like I said in the title of this post, they just need luck.

Re: Just Need Luck

I'd be worried if he was barely running top ten every week, but for the last few races he has run solidly inside or near the top 5. Just bad luck is holding them back. They are running strong. They will get their wins soon.
