New Crew Chief For Ryan - Who Would You Pick?

After reading some of the negative comments here about TG, it got me wondering - who would you think would make a good crew chief for Ryan? I don't mean a "fantasy" pick, I'm thinking more of someone who would actually be available for SHR to hire, or promote from within.

Would it be someone with no crew chief experience who you think could become a good CC for Ryan, or would you want an experienced CC with a proven track record?

Just wondering what some of you think, is all.

I would pick someone like ron malec, the car chief for the 48, he is a solid hard worker and along with chad have been great in setting up JJ's car, it seems like rousch is really good at picking and changing up CC, i know alot of ryan fans would want to see matt boreland become CC again, but i think too much time has passed for them to have the same success, i feel however that looking at the current CC is something SHR needs to do....

No way Boreland comes back. Even if he wanted to downgrade his job to CC the Cars are nothing what he was used too, & the rules are much more strict. He wont ever be a CC again. I dont know a lot of the guys behind the scene so it would be hard for me figure out who to take. I know Ryan has many cars good at the start of a race. We need a CC that understands how to make them better or the very least keep up with where it starts. Not consistently make them worse. Then actually say, I dont understand why that did that. The risk promoting a car chief or someone that isnt already a CC is you dont know if they will be able to make those calls on the box correctly. (wasnt Gibson a good car chief?) Either way though, Ryan wont win a championship with Gibson. Which is the goal. So either take the chance on a new guy, a nationwide CC, or find a retread from somewhere else in cup. Gibson wont bring the #39 team a Championship. I have tried to give benefit of the doubt, but I am pretty much done with that now.
Even though I was unable to answer it, I do like this question, & curious to read everyones answers.

You guys remember old Roy McCauley when Ryan was with Penske? Newman won 6 of 9 races under Roy in the Busch series!

Roy is a engineer through and through! He and Ryan would be awesome if they could re-unite!

Would like to see Matt Borland but won't happen. Matt likes being with his family.

At this point, I don't care who they pick, just would like to see some new blood in that position. Someone who clicks with Ryan and is intuitive, smart and ballsy. And he's got to be able to stand up to Smoke.

I think Robie Loomis could do the job for Ryan.

Personally, I think Steve LeTarte would be great!. Look what he has done for Jr. Ryan has, in my opinion, much more talent than Jr. He needs a CC that can set up his car. Steve is already familiar with the engines and seems to be a huge motivator. Thats my pick.

I pick Nelson Stewart, he's a smart man & he'd be as good as TG for sure..lol Ohh Yeah, he'd stand up to Smoke too !!!!

I dunno. His Dad as CC? How do you yell at your Dad? That could be a problem, I would think.
