nothing like listening to a ball game on the radio, we had harry kalas up here, and he was nothing but amazing......

Got to agree. Baseball is great to listen to. I'd say it's better than watching it because it draws you in, makes you use your imagination, reminds you of the mid-20th century when folks turned on their radio to listen to their favorite team, etc. There's a degree of novelty and Americana involved which is what makes it fun. Besides, in this day and age, you can always see the videos of the big stuff that you had heard on your particular team's website after the game. That's what I always do. Listen to it, then go to Braves.com to see the videos.

Re: Top 5 Activities you like to do (not related to racing)

I only started listening to them in 2009, but I do have the audio clip of Skip Caray's call of the last play of the 1992 NLCS and the 1995 World Series on my computer, and I have to agree. Also have three different calls of Hank's 715th home run and Jim Powell's call of Jason Heyward's first at-bat homer last year and it's like I said, there's just an aura of hearing it. No other sport - certainly not auto racing - translates as well to radio regardless of how great the broadcasters are, as is the case with MRN and PRN, because they're fast-paced and fairly chaotic. Baseball, though, is structured and paced as such that you can listen to the game and know everything that is going on on every play.

I learned about and became a fan of hockey by listening on the radio. and i agree, baseball is much betetr over the airwaves....i grew up listening to Ernie Harwell call Tigers' games...on a good night i could catch Cleveland games, and on a really good night, Cincinnati games

Basically you take a trip to your favorite getaway via the internet. Say you want to visit Italy. Find a hotel online that has some nice views and then you go exploring. One weekend, I stayed in Positano and explored. Then next day was spent visiting Capua and exploring what remains of their arena.

Virtual vacations have been a big help to me over the past few months. Especially, my recent visit to the Rocky Mountains. I found a new place to stay and hope that someday I might actually get to spend a few nights there.

crazy huh?
