Re: Avatars

Hi there and welcome the Garage Gang.

Lets see if I can help you. If you have a picture you want to use for an avatar, you will need to shrink it down to 120x120 pixels as this site will not allow anything larger than that. Move this pic to your desktop as this will be easier to find when we go through the next steps.

Now click on USER CONTROL PANEL
Click on PROFILE
Click on EDIT AVATAR
Click on BROWSE

a window will open up and you will want to select desktop from the left side and then scroll down on the right side to the file or picture you want and click on it...the window will close now you are back on this site

Click on SUBMIT

That is it, you have just added or changed your avatar.

Yeah, I'm having trouble shrinking it down to the 120 x 120 pixels... Any idea how I can do that? I've tried cropping, but that only gets me down to about 200 x 200.

Re: Avatars

You don't have to crop your pictures to shrink them, try what I am suggesting below.

If you are using Microsoft Windows Picture Manager then you can do this...

Click on EDIT PICTURES tab at top of the screen

Click on RESIZE on the right side of the screen

On the line for Custom Height and Custom Width you will see two empty boxes below this, you will want to type 120 in one box and 120 in the other box.

Then click OK under the pixel settings on the right side of the screen.

Don't be surprised if when you set it for 120x120 it adjusts for a number smaller than that because if your picture that you are editing is not square, this will happen and that is fine.

You will need to click SAVE in the upper left corner before closing this screen.

Now try using my directions from my previous post.
