RCR Crew Member Suspended: Violation Of Substance Abuse Policy

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 24, 2011) – Gary Frost, a crew member for the No. 31 team in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, has been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR for violating the sanctioning body’s substance abuse policy.

Addiction is not logical. He is one of so many from different walks of life and different jobs.

It is a shame, I agree. :(

I think I will withhold judgment until they say what he was dirty for. A lot of those test are very fickle. You can buy stuff at GNC & it would trigger a dirty test on some things & be perfectly okay & legal. I am curious on getting more info on this myself.

Yeah, it would help to have more details (what drug) but that kind of information isn't often released, is it?

they've done a study on hand sanitizer, and if you use enough, it can trigger a false-positive for alcohol.

but who knows what this guy did to trigger a positive test result....could be the real deal since nascar finally made a list for everyone a couple years ago to go from.

I'm not waiting for results because it's none of our business. I just love how everyone feels that they need to know what is going on with employees in sports related industires, whether it's racing, football, or anything else.

No other industries publish violations. Does Coca-Cola? Parker-Hannafin? Sears? Budweiser, etc publish and announce employees who may have committed a corporate violation? No, and neither should NASCAR or any others sports.

It's not our business. It's between the employer and the employee.
