Weekly Picks & The 1 Point Club
My goal was 95 points. So far I've got 11. 84 points to go, and 13 races left. Maybe I set my sights too low?
Re: Weekly Picks & The 1 Point Club

Re: Weekly Picks & The 1 Point Club
I want something easy tonight, I feeling lazy, so I was thinking. Steamed Hotdogs, Chips, and my famous Triple Chocolate Fudge Brownies. Oh, they just melt in your mouth...and on your hands and where ever else body heat is higher than the outside air.
There are two ways of doing things...the wrong way and my way.
What, don't want to do it my way, there is a fine for that.

I have been down to Farmers Market and found all kinds of fresh veggies for a salad tonight. I also found all kinds off fresh fruit, but they did not have everything I wanted so I picked up some from the local grocery store to add some color and hopefully some flavor.
So we will be having a garden salad and a fruit salad. The fruit salad is more of a dessert because I picked up some whip cream to put on top. The kids gave me the idea and well who can say no to whip cream on top of fruit.
I was talking to Beaver and he suggested BBQing some chicken and then slicing it up real thin and spreading it around the top like like a pinwheel. Also to boil some eggs and then slice those up thin and spread those around the edge of the salad. Now we go from a garden salad to chef salad. What would I do without him, but sssshhhh don't tell him that. I will never hear end of it.

Oh, gee thanks. Just remember where it all began. Almost 19 years ago. You were 5'2 and just bearly 90 lbs. All because you had no idea how to cook and your mother was famous for taking shortcuts in cooking. So you had no proper training.
I'll never forget that first time I cooked for you and your parents and your father not only wanted seconds, but he wanted thirds. Your mother was furious because he never wanted seconds of anything she cooked and his answer was that is because you never made anything that tasted this good.
I got the butter, clams, shrimp, scallops, and corn...so where is my lobster
Re: Weekly Picks & The 1 Point Club
My grandfather always used to say "make sure you marry a woman who can cook".
My grandmother would then add "and if she can't, make sure you can...
so you can teach her how".
Having a mother who worked as a chef and a grandmother who passed on all her family recipes to me. I feel blessed beyond belief.
It was always amazing to watch my grandmother get into her baking mode of mind. She did not need a cook book or recipe card. She had them all memorized. You could ask her about any recipe and she could not only name all the ingredients, but tell you the measurements, and how long it would need to bake and how long the prep time should take. She was an amazing woman.
