Kurt and Co. are on the verge of making some noise.

I kinda think Kurt could be setting himself up for an Indy ride in a couple years if he doesn't get back to top equipment. Giving himself some options.

Yeah, the sound of an implosion if things don't go exactly Kurt's way.

Re: The #78 team blew it!

It ain't always 100% driver OR equipment....... I think Kurt's gonna get back to top tier stuff. He CAN drive a race car there is NO DOUBT. He's havin' a pretty good year in mid-level equipment. THAT oughtta say somethin' for his physical talents. All he's gotta do NOW is keep his head outta his a$$ and let the offers present themselves....... 8-)

Re: The #78 team blew it!

It doesn't matter how good your team is, you don't win a championship without some serious skill, and a little luck along the way. Kurt has been really good, like they said over and over last night, on short runs. He may be over-driving, the equipment and pit-stops may not be top-notch.

The All-Star race was won and lost on the final pit-stop last night. Both the Busch brothers had sub-par stops while Kahne and JJ had great ones. Personally, I'm not so sure that the format was perfect for the race. I just don't like the fact that the pit-stop basically determined the outcome. The advantage of clean air, coupled with it only being 10 laps clearly put the emphasis on the pit crew and not the driver for the final segment. In the format they used, if a team and driver dominate the first 4 segments like the Busch's did, I think they deserve a little better reward than to have depend on their crews to keep them up front to start the "feature" of the night. I'm not trying to take away from the #48 doing a great job to get up toward the front after a dreadful qualifying attempt, but all we heard was how important it was to average a great finish in all 4 segments, ....and whoosh...it was all gone because of one pit-stop.

Maybe make it 20 laps in the final one...maybe not include the pit-stop before the final segment, but rather in front of the 4th one...maybe line them up after the pit stop all together??? Not sure, but to put the reward for the night on just the best pit-stop before the final 10 laps doesn't seem right. Just my $0.02.

I only look at it as negative bashing if it is untrue.

I prefer to think of myself as an escargot, NOT a "slug". 8-) ;)
