Change in All-Star fan vote

A tweak announced Wednesday for the Sprint All-Star race will allow the winner of the Sprint Fan Vote from the Sprint Showdown to advance into the main event without being on the lead lap as long as the car is in "raceable" condition as determined by Sprint Cup Series director John Darby.(ESPN)(5-16-2013)

im sure this is called "the danica" rule......

Oh brother. What will they think of next?

By the way...most of the time she's not out there racing....she's out there driving

It all depends on what they determine to be "raceable" We may end up testing that definition. Several of the less popular drivers seemed to be upset with the rules change when it was announced. Might they take it out on her on the track?

Re: Change in All-Star fan vote

Yeah, that was kind of funny how it was changed on some things but not on others as it was supposedly meant to be. Isn't that omission a detriment to stock car racing? Can NASCAR fine themselves?

i dont blame other drivers bein mad, what really got me was how they were going to change the top 35 rule all of the sudden, sorry, just not a fan, she got her ride because she had a sponsor, not because she set the NW series on fire.

Re: Change in All-Star fan vote

As of this afternoon the top 5 in fan votes are(in no particular order) Jeff Burton, Danica, Truex Jr, Bobby Labonte, and Michael Waltrip.

Vote for your favorite....early and often!!

Re: Change in All-Star fan vote

I don't think it is fair to the other drivers and they have a right to be mad. I sure as heck would be.

NASCAR must be courting Go Daddy for more sponsorship monies somewhere.

you know I am not real big on Conspiracy theories, but I have to wonder when it comes to voting.
I wonder if these are the 5 Nascar wants to back, to get in so they list them as the top 5 so everyone wont bother voting for the others or if this is actually true?

Yeah Schmoop. I too was surprised to hear Mikey's and Bobby's names in the top......I mean Clint Bowyer even said Mikey was the worst driver in NASCAR.

Waltrip is a television personality, hence the fan favorite, fans of NASCAR get to know him from his on air work for Fox, and then vote for him.

Re: Change in All-Star fan vote

I want to watch the top 25 or so race their butts off. No start and parkers. No up-and-coming drivers. No drivers who just ride around.... just the top elite in this sport. Danica needs to stay in the hauler and watch.
Here kitty kitty.. come get you some of this!!
