Complicated forecast, especially for Sunday. Monday would be worse:

HH are you trying to rain on our "parade"? Rain on Sunday,win on Monday or Tuesday........or Wednesday.......or Thursday?? I would think that the new track drier would probably dry Bristol in 20 mins max.....maybe this is the drier's test this weekend...... .....It is beautiful today..

In order to dry the track, it first has to stop raining. Are you sure the "new" driers are even at Bristol?

Funny you should mention that........I think this could be the ultimate test.......

NASCAR will debut new track trying procedure: NASCAR will roll out a new track drying system this season that will dramatically speed up the process to get racing surfaces back to green-flag conditions following a rain shower. After NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France set a goal to improve drying times by 80 percent, the team at the Research and Development Center in Concord, N.C., went to work on developing the new machine. "Our group in the R&D center went right to work on that," France said Tuesday night on "NASCAR Live." "We engaged third-party help and we'll have it for Daytona. We won't be at 80 percent, but we're going to be dramatically better with a whole new system on how to dry the track as much as 60 percent (faster) and we will get to the 80 percent goal." The ultimate goal is to see a superspeedway like Daytona International Speedway race-ready in 30 minutes rather than two hours and a short track like Martinsville Speedway completed in 15 minutes. France said the new air-powered machine that is followed by a vacuum system will not only be faster but better for the environment, eventually eliminating the current process of using jet dryers powered by kerosene jet fuel that's been in place since 1976. "We're
patenting some technology that (uses) air pressure," France said. "Think of it as giant tanks, scuba tanks, that drive air out and blow water - or anything else - off the surface in a dramatically better way. It's a big solution. Hey if it can dry Daytona in a half hour.......Bristol should be 5 min. Max!

Just checked the radar for the Bristol area and no rain.

There is a large system stretching from Virginia to Kansas but all is moving East/North East and nothing South of that system.

Not to worry.

Let us hope it doesn't rain so some poor driver is asked the stupid question about how they liked the new dryer. Because there isn't a correspondent that wouldn't ask. Get away fast Denny.

Well the Titan 1000 missed it's chance for the "Grand Debut"!!!!! Think they better pack it up and head west cause "it never rains in Southern California......it pours, man it pours!!! One of my favorite songs.......

did they have those new track dryer things there? i know they didn't in vegas, at least they didn't use them, rained quite a bit there and cancelled some practices and Cup quals and the only ones i saw on the track were the regular old jet dryers. anyone know how many of those new thingamajiggies they created? with all the hype they made over them in daytona you'd think they would at least have a couple, so they would be able to get them to whatever track they're running.

Fontana this weekend......... Don't think they'll need it!!
