Danica will have the pole for Daytona

Just 10 minutes ago a story appeared on ESPN NASCAR site saying Danica won the pole and Jeff Gordon will be second. This news will thrill Rick Hendrick as I just read a story where he would liked to have her win it. Also confirming his pleasure Richard Petty who apparently he didn't think much of women drivers thought it was a good idea also. This will thrill her fans but I hope it also will get the naysayers off her back. It probably won't tho as there are too many people out there who have little dolls they stick pins in.

Go get em Danica.............

I'm also with Annalee on "Yeah" to StewartHaasRacing.........I hope they all have a slam bang year.

SHR blew qualifying out of the water........they did great! I think the new pairing of crew chiefs and adding Zippy as Competition director......plus Hendrick engines and some great engineers...it should be a great year. It is certainly starting off that way. Plus adding the new Test Team is really paying off......I think Tony has really done a great job of getting the right people, in the right places and letting them do their jobs.....

I've got some good news & some bad news (For Danica & Jeff):

Good news: You are locked into the Daytona 500 starting on the front row.

Bad news: You have to risk your cars by still running in the Duel race.

Past performance would indicate that the risk is greater for Danica than for Jeff.

Thanks for posting that bit of info Hiddenhallow. I did not realize the top two still had to race in the duels. Must not have paid attention. I think that is wrong as it puts two drivers behind them in a tougher position. Actually it does give the top two more time on the track for the 500.
