Just to point something out in case some of you have not noticed. Mark Martin is not driving this week, it is Brian Vickers that will be driving the #55 Toyota and he has not raced in Sprint Cup yet this season. To add to that, he has only had one top 5 out of the last three races in Nationwide and no other top 10s. He spent most of last season as a fillin driver, so it is kind of hard to find any real stats on him for specific tracks for specific teams.

Thanks beav. Just this afternoon I printed this lineup for Bristol and didn't look at it yet. Here is from the NASCAR website. When I pasted, it looked like a table should look but to preview it, it was all scrunched together. But read it thusly: Driver # - Car # - Driver - Vehicle - Sponsor. I have another cheat sheet that took me hours to construct giving all the driver's history including NAME, CAR NO., MAKE, #YRS. IN SPRINT CUP, # STARTS, #POLLS, # WINS, # TOP 5/10, # DNF, AVG. START/FINISH. I'll put it in another post if anyone thinks they might want it. It's in a Word document. Can I copy/paste the document? Will you be able to open it that way? I'll try it.

Vickers led a lot of laps for MWR last year and finished 5th at Bristol. In fact, MWR has done pretty well there. A LOT of top 10's the last few races.

He also finished 4th in the fall night race at Bristol. Why doesn't he race more Sprint Cup races?

He's splitting the 55 ride with Mark and Mikey. It's likely that he'll have the 55 ride next year when Mark is gone and Mikey is supposed to retire from driving. That's the speculation anyway as long as he does well in the races he has this year. They didn't want him signing anywhere else which is why he's driving NW full time for JGR. They basically gave him a full time job to tide him over this year.

That's interesting Rochelle because I was looking at his Nationwide stats and he's been pretty good and probably better than some in Sprint right now. Even though Nat has shorter races and the competition is less. He should do well.

I just look at the statement of "I am going to retire next season" and then Mark Martin is still here. How many times has he said this over years? So pardon me for saying that I will believe it when I see it and even then, it may take a couple of seasons to officially believe it.
