CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. will return to the Sprint Cup Series this weekend at Martinsville Speedway.
NASCAR's most popular driver was cleared medically to return on Tuesday after missing the past two races at Charlotte and Kansas with symptoms of a concussion.
Earnhardt received clearance by neurosurgeon Dr. Jerry Petty after an evaluation at Petty's Charlotte office, which followed a 123-lap test on Monday at Gresham Motorsports Park in Georgia with Dr. Petty present.

Strange poll/survey results on Race Hub yesterday where the majority voted JR. should NOT be back in the car? Race Hub commented it was because his fans cared so much about him not to get hurt worse--or was it? Jr does have his naysayers/critics etc as its said popularity breeds comtempt and jealousy for some?

probably a little of both.

Jr's fans would rather have him healthy. Logic should prevail... He can't finish any worse than where he is, 12th.
All you have to do is look at the most popular driver poll year in and year out. Jr Nation out votes all other drivers fans, including naysayers.
