Joey Logano to the 22?

Joey Logano appears to be the leading candidate to replace AJ Allmendinger at Penske Racing next year, but team owner Roger Penske says he has made no decision yet. Penske has had a couple of weeks to talk to candidates for the ride, but said Sunday he has made no decision. Logano has driven the last four years for Joe Gibbs Racing but the organization has not been able to put sponsorship together to keep him in a Cup car for 2013. Gibbs is expected to announce soon that it has hired Matt Kenseth to replace Logano in the #20 car for next season. Team officials have said they would like to keep Logano but fielding a full-time Cup car for him would depend on finding sponsorship to start a fourth team.
Ryan Newman and Brian Vickers also have been mentioned as possible candidates for the ride, but Newman has said he is focused on staying with Stewart-Haas Racing and the team is working on sponsorship for next season.(Sporting News)(8-14-2012)

I am still hoping for Sam Hornish Jr. After that top five at Watkins Glen (and the fact he wasn't much of a road racer in Indycar) he deserves a shot. Maybe he will be in a third car or something. I wonder why Penske wants Logano? Maybe Keselowski has something to do with it (he and Logano are friends and Logano has pushed Keselowski to the win at Talladega in a nw race before).

i agree. I think Joey needs a change of scenery. I'm not a fan of Hornish, I just don't care for him. I can't even tell you why but I just don't care for him. He seems to have become a better stock car racer, but all I see is the numerous wrecks he used to cause and all the drivers days he ruined. Yes, I probably should get over that, but, fact is, I'm just not ready to.

Penske needs someone who is "clean" in that car. Hornish, Joey or Ryan fit the bill so it seems Roger will finally be able to sleep at night once he signs one of those guys. Well, he can focus on those sons of his least.

There's no way in h-e-double hockey sticks after Mayfield,Busch and Dingelbury do i want to see Joey Lagano at Penske,especially as Brads team mate,i was right about those three and i'm right about this one d-m it! Why does Roger disagree with me,the average joe who never even owned a Cup team,let along worked for one? Joey isn't a Detroit Diesel,he can't fix Joey,Joey is always going to be Joey!

Perhaps Joey going to Penske to be paired with Brad would be a good idea. They both are young, friends and drive somewhat alike. Penske probably would help Joey grow up a little as he still is quite young and that would be an advantage.

Drive some what alike,what do yah mean by that ndunn? Brad reminds me in many ways of Dale Snr.,while Joey reminds me of-well Joey.
