Kentucky Speedway

This is going to be my second year going to Kentucky Speedway! Last year, it was boing because the drivers barly made any passing. Also, you can bring a 14x14x14 inch cooler. So now you don't need to go to the track, get thursty, then go back to your car. In the coolers, you can bring unopened water bottles or soda, Even snacks! I can't wait for Saturday. :D :D :D

Re: Kentucky Speedway

Sounds like you are going to have a great weekend. Go early so you won't be stuck in traffic... They said they fixed the traffic problem, but you never know. Didn't hear about them repaving the track either. Have fun. Hope you can see Tony win one in person!

No resurfacing of track , just improved traffic flow on highways, new parking lots, concession stands and tunnel to track. Should be no more traffic nightmares getting to and going home from the race...think you are good to go! :)

Well, there will still be trafic i bet. Just less trafic though. I heard last year, some people didn't even get in and watch the race.

Re: Kentucky Speedway

We went to the Fan Day there last month (or was it 2 months ago :? ) & got to see the new parking places & the tunnel. They had a little shuttle tour. Even used the underground tunnel from outside to inside the track. First time we've ever done that.

As for the new enlarged roads to handle the problem, they're still going to have the problem....though just not right there, on farther back where there isn't any extra lanes anymore. It'll flow a little faster because of the extra parking across the track from the enterances of turns 3 & 4 are (where gift shop is at).

But as with any NASCAR race, there's always a mess of traffic jams.

Now if they just had cooling stations set up around the place for those of us who can't handle the heat that well, that would be the next big improvement the track could do.

Re: Kentucky Speedway

Coolers:

Fans can bring one 14-inch cooler and one carry-in item (i.e. backpack or purse) into Kentucky Speedway. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE NOT PERMITTED.* Coolers may contain UNOPENED plastic bottles or aluminum cans (water or soft drinks) and food. NO GLASS containers allowed. All coolers and carry-in items will be inspected at the gates. Fans are encouraged to come through the gates at least one (1) hour prior to the green flag to allow for bags and coolers to be checked. Coolers are NOT permitted on Suite Level.

*Kentucky ABC law prohibits alcohol to be carried through Kentucky Speedway gates.
