A friend of mine, who is also on the school board with me, her and her husband own a cleaning company. They are willing to donate their time for themselves and four crew people which would mean three rooms total to start the cleaning of our five point club for the final week building up to the last race. They only ask that they get to join in on the festivities because she is a Newman Fan and her husband is a Stewart Fan...but to listen to her, you would think it was the other way around sometimes. They will be heading down tomorrow to get started. When you look at the library, the 2 lounges, the lobby, the 200 rooms, the kitchen, the pools, and the track (which I will help them with), it may take them several weeks to clean the several layers of dust off everything. You have to remember, we have not been in here since the beginning of July and this could take a few times to get things done right.
Two of my nephews are in their second year at culinary arts school. One is concentrating on desserts and the other is concentrating on seafood. Got to love them both. So I told them they could share a room and join us as well. They have to preform some intern work anyway, so what better than something like 400 people or more.
I have spoken with my seafood supplier and he is going to start setting his traps for his normal customers...then there is us. He will also be in contact with his wholesalers for shrimp, and clams. I have told him that we will also want the following fish fillets: haddock, salmon, sword fish, and sea bass.
My brother-in-law contacted his neighbor who owns a butcher shop and is going to supply us with all the beef, chicken, and ham that we could want. I don't think my nephews can handle cooking for all of us by themselves. So I will be joining them as will be their dad who also has a culinary arts degree. Then we will be looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen...I am not afraid to institute the draft if I don't get any. Just letting you know now. So be thinking about what you can bring for week of the final race. It should be a lot of fun for all of us.
My nephew who is studying to be the pastry chef said he will bring his own tools and baking items. I told him to prepare for 500 even though there may only be 400. He said 600 it is then.
Yes but Jr was running well/up front until very late. Giving me hope. Sigh.
