I like Clint, as well. I just hope MWR can give him good cars so he can be competitive. I dunno. Only time will tell.

I'm actually just glad he got a ride. I really like Clint. I like the car, but didn't they say they're only on for twenty-something races? Do they have another sponsor?

Re: Bowyer's new ride..............

MWR is a second tier team but with potential. Reuitmann contended for the chase in 2009 and 2010 and Truex Jr has had some good runs. They just fail to get that consistency going to be a chase team. I think Bowyer can help that. They just need to build a team around him.

Re: Bowyer's new ride..............

Listening to Clint i believe as he does,w/o RCR it was his best choice with what was left out there to go with.Clint stated he believes MWR is an up and coming team and his decision was for himself as well as "his" sponsor.Hope Clint doesn't get let down over at MWR and really don't understand the RCR deal aside making room for Richards grandkids! Would have got rid of Burton long before Clint as the mayor hasn't done Jack %hit since his early years with Roush in the #99 car! :evil:Richards Grandson Dillon is in the #98 Cup ride this weekend,he qualifyed the car and made the show,i'm sure there is something in it for the #98 for doing it.Still a Harvick fan,but sadly to say,i hope Clint finishes ahead of all the RCR cars next year and Richard can't find a sponsor for Dillon in 2013!
Junior Johnson/Cale Yarborough/Dale Earnhardt Snr./DougWolfgang
Ron Hornady/Kevin Harvick/Brad Keselowski/Sammy Swindell

I gotta disagree......I did some diggin' where Burton and Bowyer are concerned....

They both came to RCR in '05. Since then here's a few stats to compare and decide why for yourselves or maybe start some controversial scuttlebutt....

Burton since 2005.... 4 wins, T5 37, T10 88 4 Poles Laps led 1550 Earnings.. 37,983,188 not incl '11
Bowyer since '05...4 wins, T5 30, T10 90 2 Poles Laps led 1448 Earnings.. 28,371,281 not incl '11.

And were it not for the fact that Burton has had a HORRIBLE 2011, the numbers might be a little more separated.........

Re: Bowyer's new ride..............

What is the difference between Earnhardt Jr. and Truex Jr.? Dale has had 2 more top 5s which resulted in 2 more top 10s and Dale has less than $300,000 more in winnings.

For Truex, there is only 50 points between him being in 20th and Bowyer who is in 13th. Bowyer has 11 top 10s and 0 poles whereas Truex had 1 pole and 8 top 10s.

Re: Bowyer's new ride..............

The question is, since Jr. and Jeff swapped everything, including cars, why didn't he run as well as Jeff this year? And, he got a new contract to boot. If it wasn't for his name he wouldn't have many fans and if it wasn't for his fans, he wouldn't have a ride. Sometimes this business is just too skewed.

My guess is Clint Bowyer took the choice of not being thrown under the bus and chose his own future. Who knows if it was right or wrong. Time will tell. It seems owners comes up with the same excuse and that's the sponsor thing. Rousch is great at not being able to find a sponsor when he needed one. Hendrick is more up front and just tells a driver he isn't wanted. Best thing in NASCAR is being born with a great name and a family loaded with cash.
