For SmokeShow...... JM

McMurray named quarterly award winner: Members of the National Motorsports Press Association [NMPA] have selected NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Jamie McMurray as the second quarter winner of the NMPA Speedway Motorsports Spirit Award. The award is designed to recognize character and achievement in the face of adversity, sportsmanship and contributions to motorsports. Each year, quarterly winners are selected, and an overall winner is determined by a vote of the National Motorsports Press Association membership. Personally impacted by the tornados that devastated his hometown of Joplin, Mo., the Earnhardt Ganassi Racing driver was selected for his involvement in raising awareness through promotion of Convoy of Hope, then visiting the area and meeting with residents in an effort to raise spirits as well. Also receiving votes were: Wood Brothers Racing's Trevor Bayne, Stewart-Haas Racing's Tony Stewart, Hendrick Motorsports' Jimmie Johnson, Joe Gibbs Racing's Denny Hamlin and Richard Childress Racing's Kevin Harvick.(EGR)(8-9-2011

Thanks for posting that MJ. That is a pretty cool honor for Jamie to get for the things he's done off track for the people in Joplin after that disaster. He really stepped up to go and reconstruct his home town.
