SHR tweeted this and thought maybe there would be those who would be interested.

Now that 88 has gone to a backup, what does that mean? While the record books will state Earnhardt Jr., won the pole, here's how it'll work.

88 starts at back of field in his Gatorade Duel. Newman will lead field to green from No. 1 starting spot.

No matter where 88 finishes in Duel, he will start at the end of the Daytona 500 field. Why? He already qualified and is now in a backup.

Whoever wins 1st Duel will lead Daytona 500 to green from the No. 1 starting spot. (Record books will state Earnhardt Jr. started 1st.)

Both Newman & Stewart are in 1st Duel, so both have a shot at inheriting No. 1 starting spot for the 53rd Daytona 500 if they win the Duel.

I'd say that's pretty cool for Tony and Ryan!!!!

Worked out Great as now Ryan on Pole and Tony up to 3rd for Duel #1

jr was hoping he got to use his bud shoot out car, because he said it was better, doesnt really matter where you start at a plate track

Neither Tony or Ryan has a great starting position for Sunday. Ryan starts 21st and Tony starts 25th.

I want to see SHR #1 & 2 at the checkers.
