PRE TALLADEGA FOR NEWMAN

Folks, I won't lie to you. Newman has not been all that good at this track even historically.

Since 2002, Newman has had 6 DNF'S at Talladega. Mainly he get's caught up in OTHERS wrecks!

Newman's stats look as follows:Avg. start 14.1......Avg. finish 20.61......5-top 5's....2-top 10's...no poles or wins........YIKES!

So, Team #39 needs to avoid getting caught up in wrecks or any other racing fatalities. I know, many you can't control!

Not much else to say about this track. I'm not a big fan of restrict-or plate races because as a driver you have to rely upon help from your competitors. Then you have to deal with the drafting wrecks!

he also has the potential for a good run, just like in the spring 09 race, until carl went flying, i think laying back will only get ya in trouble, it would be neat if he can work his way and stay near the lead.

I agree, you don't want to be in the middle of the pack at Dega. Too much can go wrong... not of your own making. Qualifying and staying up front is key.

it is feast or famine for Ryan. He is either finishing around the top 5 or not finishing at all. I hate this track for him! it was this track where Ryan & Dale Jr first figured out the two car tango during practice. Then almost won the race, when Carl & Brad decided to follow suit & ran them down doing the same thing. We all know how that ended, but even with his wrecked car finished 3rd.

With the two car draft let's see how the race unfolds. They don't call these races the lotto for nothing. I hope both Ryan and Tony do well. Heck the race where Carl Edwards took a trip in the the fence, Newman came in third. So good luck to both! both are due for a win.
