CALIFORNIA DREAMING...ON SUNDAY!

Our favorite driver is currently tied for 3RD in points ironically with his team-mate Tony Stewart. This is a good thing! This is Ryan's best start in many, many years I can assure you. Mainly because he hasn't gotten caught up in OTHERS wrecks or the other "bad luck" traits that seem to mysteriously follow Newman and have in his 10TH year in the Cup series.

This 2 mile oval hasn't been all that good to Newman with: 1-pole/3-top 5's/5-top 10's in 16 starts. Very obviously, he needs to break his inconsistent trend at this track.

This is Jimmie Johnson's home-coming track as well as Jeff Gordon's so all the media blitz will be talking about those two....WHO CARES REALLY!

It has been nice seeing Ryan grabbing a little piece of the Nascar lime light with MUCH more in the way of interviews and talk of Newman. How many years has it been since this has happened folks?

Not much else to say about this race other than,"Gentlemen, start your engines!"

well this will defiantly be a true test for the 39 team, of course a win would be good, but with his history at that track a top ten would be a great thing for the team.

Well MJ, not sure if he can get a win at California? He was 11TH fastest in final practice. That's probably about close to what he will finish. Trust me on this! ....But, I could be wrong.

its cool to ask, ive been a ryan fan since 01, and to be honest with ya, when this site stated up a few years ago, no one talked much about ryan, i use to make music vids of him but they never caught on, he is my 2nd fav driver, i want to see him do good, and hope he does, he deserves it.

well if you want some realistic view I am hoping for a top 10. If you want somepositive point of view, he was 2nd fastest in consectitive 10 laps in 2nd practice. These are the tracks I normally worry about the #39 team. I think they are Gibsons worst style off tracks. So if we can get a top ten & be close to a top 5 then I will have a lot of high hopes for the rest of the season for this #39 team.

(BTW I like the fact there is more talk about Ryan on here, than before)

^^^^^ that is basically how i feel, the way he performs on weaker tracks will dictate the season for them, he did good in practice, thats a start, if he won great! however a top 10 or 5 will be just as nice, its good to see him run well especially if you include the last 10 races from 2010....
