All things Ryan

So I'm wondering if plans are already in the works for Ryan's 2014 season. I could be just wishful hoping here, but hey ya never know....
I was announced last week that Quicken Loans was signing with Penske's IRL program. There is something about the Penske team that sponsors really like. I mean Miller Brewing Co. has been on a Penske car for as long as I can remember. They are one of the only primary sponsors that are on the car every week. Shell Penzoil is primary sponsor through 90% of all the races. So for whatever reason sponsors love Roger Penske and don't mind putting out the cash to fund his teams.
So my thought is this....... Roger said he was really thinking about signing Ryan to drive the 22 before the Burnt Toast deal was reached. Newman is with SHR with a one year deal. His future is up in the air, and lets face it he is the odd man out here at SHR. Things will only get worse for Ryan with the addition of Happy next year. So I am wondering if Quicken Loans sponsorship in Penske's IRL teams will spill over into their Cup team. QL must have been satisfied with Ryan's performance in 2012 to ramp up their sponsorship of him in 2013. So I'm wondering/ hoping if maybe PRS, QL, and Ryan Newman are already preparing for 2014? I am not sure how long Moldy Breads contract is for, but it wouldn't be the first time Penske had a three car team. Roger said Sam Hornish would be his next driver, but I'm sure if a fully funded driver like Ryan were to come about Roger would not hesitate to sign him.
Like I said I could be just wishfull hoping here. I really was hoping Ryan would have been signed to the 22 (even though I hate the colors and wouldn't be caught dead in an orange and yellow jacket or shirt) I do however love that car for some reason. I think that paint scheme works well with the lines and the body style of the new Gen 6 Fusion. Anyway back to my point..... It is highly unlikely that Ryan will be back at SHR in 2014 regardless of how well he does this year. I think he could win the Cup and still be handed his walking papers. I would like to think that any team in NASCAR would do whatever it takes to have Ryan in their stable. Roger Penske knows Ryan better than anyone out there. They have had alot of success together, and I wouldn't be surprised if Roger is making an early play for Ryan because as of now Ryan is the #1 free agent in NASCAR. I for one would love to see him back with Penske. Ryan and Brad would be my dream team..
So what do you all think of my theory?
I do wanna say I am tickled pink with the results of Ryan and the #39 team thusfar this season. I do believe it will be a great year.

Your theory sounds solid. I will say Logano has a one year deal with Penske but with his potential and his pace so far, I think he will be in Penske's plans for 2014. So if Newman does go to Penske, then he will be a 3rd driver. I think Ryan will stay at SHR if he can find sponsorship. We know Danica will be sponsored for 2014 and from what I hear Harvick is essentially fully covered for 2014. Tony still needs sponsorship for this season and most likely will need another sponsor for 2014 as BPS and Mobil 1 will be back. I think priority for sponsors is obviously Smoke, which is crazy to say but Ryan is certainly second in line when it comes to sponsors at SHR right now. My honest opinion, Ryan doesn't return, it's a 3 car team in 2014. 2015 I'm hearing Tony is making a push to acquire Clint Bowyer to keep the 3 car team going as Danica most likely will not be coming back after her contract is up in 2014. Really I could see Smoke scaling back to part time in the near future (possibly 2015).

too early to have the joe's fate sealed, regardless what people say, he has talent, he was just brought to cup way to fast, so thats gibbs fault. but if penske has a deal with QL it could be a good sign for ryan, as i have said the last year or so, he needs out, its obvious he is the third man on the pole, tony wont get rid of danica she is a cash cow whether she runs top 10 or last place and if tony and SHR had confidence in ryan they would have signed him to a multi year deal.

Unfortunately, that's where the signs are pointing, but I'm all good with the idea of Ryan at Penske. I love Roger and most of the racers on his teams (actually just the Indy drivers). I also REALLY like Brad and think the 2 of them could be GREAT teammates.
My first choice would be Ryan stay at SHR if he gets good equipment but Penske would definitely be an awesome second choice.

I am not so warm & fuzzy on this thought just yet. it would be nice if Ryan could land a good quality ride, but let me look at it another way for a moment.
A. SHR isnt in Indy car racing & Quicken loans wants to be in Indy car racing, so they would find some team to sponsor & Penske is the top team out there. So that all makes sense without connecting any dots to Ryan. Could be simple coincidence.
B. Lets say Quicken Loans isnt a coincidence signing with Penske. I am fairly sure Penskes next cup driver will be Hornish. Penske is a loyal owner. So if Quicken Loans knows the #39 team wont be around next season. They could be setting up their own move to go to Penske & sponsor any of penske's drivers including Hornish for next season. Again may have nothing to do with Ryan at all.
The only way for Ryan to be in the equation is if QL is the ones demanding he be their driver. (IMO)

I really think there are a lot of cross over sponsorships.......Go Daddy, Target, Mc Donalds and others.....and I hope Ryan stays at SHR......

Of course he could also retire from driving and go to the design and engineering side of things.
After all, that is what his Purdue degree is in.

my honest opinion right now, doesn't look great for Ryan at least for 2014, my gut says nothing will happen at Penske. I think Penske is happy where they're at right now - Joey has been better - but if he tails off and starts being a 15th place type of driver again, they may make a change for sure. But then again, Hornish is still leading Nationwide in points? If Joey doesn't turn out and Sam continues to do well, I think they give that 22 car back to Sam next year.
Ryan's got to continue to fight for these top 10s and show that he is still an upper-tier driver; the numbers look bad this year, but all because of DNFs or tire issue from Sunday - it may not matter in the end, he still needs a win or two and more top 5s.
Hate to say it but wouldn't be surprised to see him in the Furniture Row car, Geico, or a car like that next year. Possibly, something happens with Michael Waltrip, that may be the best shot - Truex hasn't been doing anything, and especially if Tony is trying to get Clint to come over. But I don't want to see Ryan in a Toyota!
