Will Newman Have The Luck Of The Irish Sunday?

Wed Mar 13, 2013 9:49 am

Food City 500:This fan favorite race is the hottest ticket in Nascar! Well, so they say?

Nascar heads to the little salad bowl track of Bristol Tennessee. Many teams won't have to worry so much about aero at this track. Just power and balance!

It's St.Patricks Day and my 53RD birthday!(whoopy  ) Win one for the old fart Chevy39Fan!(probably cursed him with that? )

Keeping it real as I do. It's really a "coin toss" for Newman at this track or any other driver for that matter. Let's hope for the luck of the Irish....PLEASE! (there, you can't pinch me!)

The race is Sunday 1:00PM(ET) on Fox(for those without cable/dish/u-verse) :D

Newman will be sporting the familiar Haas Automation paint scheme so we may be able to see him....as long as he can get up front once in a while! 8-)

What say you if anything...............

My son was born on St Patrick's Day, before they used ultra sounds to tell you the sex of the baby prior to birth, so we didn't know if it was going to be a boy or a girl. When the nurse came out of the delivery room with him, she said, "Say hello to little Patrick." I asked, "Is it a boy or a girl?"

:? :? :? :? :? :? What can I say... I wasn't thinking clearly. Not much has changed with me. There... I said it before Beaver does. ;)

Ryan is not a sports fan sadly. He doesn't even support the college he graduated from Purdue! I gave him a Purdue tee shirt back in 2003 at Fan day with Peanut characters on it. I doubt he ever wore it? His aunt told me in 2004 that he did but maybe she was just being nice!

He didn't qualify well......hope he can find more speed so he won't get lapped! ;)

That is funny Schmoopy.

But I am wondering what the h**l is going on?! Driver back with his most sucessful crew chief and yet they look like they are headed for 24th place! Was something said by someone at SHR to Ryan that has him totally bummed? (By the way I never heard the reason why Ryan bailed out of his car in Phoenix and leapt over the wall? I think it was hilarious.) I just don't understand all of this bad luck, etc. Grrrrrrrrr

Let's hope so. All three of the SHR cars have not shown much speed or presence on the track so far this weekend. Time to pick for my weekly point, just not sure who to pick??!! The one who drives the 18 looks to be the one to beat. Can't bring myself to say his name!! lol

From what I heard on the scanners during the last race...they forgot to come and pick him up and gotta go, gotta go was the reason he took matters in his own hands......

If Bristol is all about shocks and springs.....and SHR has Dr. Who, the best shock expert in the garage...What happened!?!? I am hoping Schmoopy's idea of reverse psychology is true......but I don't think so! :( :(

Congrats to Ryan & the #39 team for a great top-10 (P7) finish at Bristol :!: After hanging mid-pack most of the race and almost going a lap down, that was a great finish (better than his teammates)!
