Re: GLOOM,DISPARE AND AGONY ON TEAM #39 SO FAR!

Personally, I just don't know how much negativity Ryan deserves. DNF's happen unfortunately. It really can't be put on the engines, because in yesterday's race Ryan missed a shift. That happens at times when the restart is messed up. Up until then, he was improving and about to get back on the lead lap.
With a top 5 finish this year, I don't think it's too late for him to make the chase. It's a long season, and we're just getting started.
Don't talk to me about waiting long for a championship....lifelong Cubs fan here. :(

All the best to Ryan and his family as they lay Poppy to rest.

Optimistic is the word of the day. Can you say it with me boys and girls.....op ti mis tic. I think you can.

When ever I personally speak of Ryan Newman. It's coming from a fan who hasn't missed a Ryan Newman race "of any kind" since 2002. That's a lot of races and years of emotional investment. No big deal. :D

Been a Cincinnati Reds fans off and on since the 70's. Been many very lean winning years in all those years as well. I can relate to your Cubs! :D

I spend so much time on Ryan only. I often wonder do all these bad luck things happen to other drivers year after year? Yes of course but it doesn't lesson the discouragement with me unfortunately. :?

All any fan can hope for is his favorite drivers very best effort. We are getting that no doubt. The only thing none of can change is his racing luck! ;)

I'm a fan of Tony's, but I'm also a fan of Ryan's as well. Shoot for me anyone who races under the SHR banner I'll cheer for, because they're all on the same team. Maybe I'm crazy for thinking like that, but I am a crazy gal, lol.

JMO......Chevy 39 fan....I think when you are a fan, no matter what happens....you'll always be a fan.......you picked that person for a reason, whether it be racing or just the person! Ryan is such a good guy and his work with animals is incredible! The Rescue Ranch he and Krissie started is such a great statement to his integrity and character. He doesn't get penalized for cheating...he doesn't cheat, he doesn't drink, he is just a really good guy with such a beautiful family and to me, that, in the long run is what life is about....sometimes it helps to look inside and decide I am a fan not for what happens on the track every Sunday, and he has had some great moments...the Daytona 500 win, something any driver would give their right arm for (Tony), but I am a fan for the person he is..... ;)

I am a fan of Tony's because of his heart of gold, his cocky attitude, the twinkle in his eye and his never give up attitude ....the fact he is a three time Champion is gravy..... But it is his journey, and what he has done with that I most admire about him. They call him the Peoples Champion for a very good reason....

3 races and people act like its the end of the world, that isnt having faith, that is having a reason to complain, maybe this is good as it gets, maybe he doesnt have what it takes to be a champion, maybe it isnt in the cards, is that a bad thing? no, like i said a million times, but no one seems to care, because it makes sense, dont let it effect your mood its racing, if it was easy, everyone will do it, sure its ok to feel bad he doesnt have a good run, but to always read threads with gloom, dis-pare and agony, gets old and is a turn off, why not focus on the good things, or talk about fav newman moments, things like that

Re: GLOOM,DISPARE AND AGONY ON TEAM #39 SO FAR!

Jellikit said it best.
Missed shifts happen from time to time, with all the drivers. Doesnt have to have an outside reason for it. These things happen. As far as thinking the sky is falling already. he isnt gonna DNF all season long, & the race he finished was a top 5. How do you know he isnt gonna run off a string of top 5's?

Sometimes things happen. Doesnt have to have (or find) an ulterior reason for it happening. Sometimes they just make a mistake.

Re: GLOOM,DISPARE AND AGONY ON TEAM #39 SO FAR!

I guess we can some it up. Stuff happens in Nascar. This we know for sure!

Being a fan of anything is acceptance of the outcome good or bad.

We also agree Newman doesn't have the best of good racing luck. This we have to accept.

Is it the end of the world? Does it change my/our moods? Of course not. It's only stock car racing!

Thanks to all for stopping by to voice your opinion! :D There will be another race this coming Sunday!

Same here Kim. I wish the best for all three drivers with and edge going towards Ryan! :D

They say racing is 85 % luck and 15% talent......we just need to find that lucky part for Ryan! :). Bristol is a good track for Ryan...not so good for Tony........Throw in the new Gen 6 car plus the luck of the Irish ( St Patrick's day)......who know's....it could be really, really good or really bad!

I suggested many years ago Annalee that Ryan should go to Ireland and kiss the blarney stone to erase his bad luck! :D Better yet, steal the blarney stone and ride around the track with it!

Wouldn't that add too much weight to the car.

I don't know HH! Ryan's looking a little plump these days. He better be careful. That nut bag Bloomberg may want to restrict weight/height requirements for Nascar drivers!

I was wondering the same thing... but I thought it just might be a baggy fire suit. ;)
